You're married, good jaws are for people who have to do those mating rituals to get laid.

Obviously the Academy.

Destroyer25;5431472Your wife, is actually going to blow you for not losing weight? Last Christmas Zoe got mad when we both gained like 8 pounds. She blamed it on me and my family's damn Danish Christmas traditions. (We eat.... A LOT :lulz:) She withheld sex for 3 weeks and made me run with her ever day! :(

Sex can be exercise. Clearly the only explanation is that she didn't really want to do you =p

NiteStryker;5430628I figure its worth it. There is very little actual pain (Ive had zits that hurt worse), the only real bad part is having your jaws wired. And not even really for the lack of sizeable meals, you get used to that.
How long does your jaw remain wired? I was told (in one of my 'discussions' that it was a two-month healing process). I'd hate to think my jaw would be wired shut for two months. :uhm:

NiteStryker;5430628Wife just said if I dont lose any weight by my first check-op on Wednesday, she'll give me a blowjob. So I have some motivation.
:lulz: There's some incentive for you. Plenty of Hot Chocolate and Milk; make sure you keep your weight up. ;)
Second problem I have run into, is there is no fiber in Ensure. My, not knowing what to expect, didnt think it was possible to sh*t since I wasnt eating anything solid. Well, not only do you sh*t, but with no fiber to hold it all together, you sh*t specks and water. And you dont feel it coming, its just like a fart, except right when its about to come out, you feel wet. So I practically sharted myself , after 3 days of not sh*tting at all, my arsehole kinda hurts right now from all of the runs I had yesterday.

This doesn't sound too pleasant. :lookaround:

Did your hand become your best friend? ;)

That does seem a bit cruel of your wife / girlfriend though. :nodding:

Well, I had my first surgical post op visit yesterday. They un-wired it but put rubber bands on, to guide the jaw into the proper healing position and hold it, and to stretch the muscles out. Because my jaw is now a centimeter longer, it is a bit heavier, so the muscles must stretch out properly.

I got to open and close my mouth yesterday a few times just to make sure everything still worked. Its amazing how much your muscles wont work when not used. I could barely open my mouth at all. But the surgeon said everything is healing very well and no signs of infection, so Im happy, even if my jaws are still secured together.

They cant tell me for sure when the jaws will be unsecured, but they said it could be another 2 or 3 weeks, but by Christmas they should be free.

Roll on to stuffing yourself (and having a proper shit after). ;)

Good to hear it's all on the good side too. Another question for you though; is anything numb? I've been told that I'd have numbness for a few weeks to a few months following the surgery (there is a 10% chance it'll be lasting). Curious as to whether you can feel your face, or whether you're needing to let the swelling go down a bit more first?

Yay! You'll be set for uni then after all, and with a corrected jaw!

Don't worry about your muscles. Just atrophy. It goes away.

Alakazam;5432192Roll on to stuffing yourself (and having a proper shit after). ;)
Actually I had a damn good shit yesterday. I am thinking now that the lack of proper shit may not have been due to a liquid diet but a constant use of milk in multiple meals, and I cannot handle lactose worth a damn. I havent had milk in anything in 2 days and my shits have been alot better, so I may continue on this trend.

And on another positive note, I gained the ability to drink from cups as long as its all liquid. I was able to drink a glass of orange juice in under a minute. Such a task took 10 minutes 2 days ago. So, baby steps = progress, lol. I cant drink blended meals from a cup yet because those have little bits of pulp in them, so I must still use a syringe to get the liquid to the back of my mouth, where there is more holes to suck it in with.

Well, I dont know about the 10 % permanent numbness, how accurate that it, but yes I have a little numbness, altho not nearly as much as some other people have apparently. Right now, its just my chin thats numb, right under my mouth. I can feel my throat fine, and anything beyond the corners of my mouth. Just the area right under the mouth is numb. And the surgeon said the nerve wasnt cut in the surgery so feeling should return in the near future.

The surgeon said its not uncommon for many people to have the entire lower jaw area be numb, but for me its not. I can feel it all, which makes eating easier. Also I would think it means I can feel the pain more, but it really doesnt hurt. Its a bit sore but thats it.
