How bad is it really? Personally I never swear because it seems to offend old people. Whether or not those old people should be offended I dont know. But It seems silly to not respect what they dont like to hear by changing the words I use.
I just don't curse because, for one, I feel icky afterwards, and, two, it just shows you can't think of something more intelligent to say in its place *ducks in cover* :help:
I swear online a lot, and in any text-based conversation, but that's mostly an inside joke. Out loud, a rarely ever swear, unless I'm using it in the right context: telling a joke or imitating someone, for instance. I certainly don't think it's "bad."
I only swear if genuinuely spurred to do so by surprise or anger. Online I'll swear more often. Not because I think it bad or naughty, but just because it is often a good way to point out the fact you are angry online where people can't read emotions, or to put emphasis on something.
Offline the only reason I don't swear is because I usually have something better to use my breath for.

That's how I am, although i do swear only on websites where i imagine the average age is below 30. Some people at support sites tend not to give people support if they consider you rude in the posts. I guess it's one of those starting off on the wrong foot sort of thing.
I've come to the conclusion that I really can't control how i use profanity in real life. For me it's like a switch. Either I'm always using profanity or im never using profanity. There's really no in between. Since I've used profanity in extremely bad situations before, I make it my personal policy to try to not use it in real life. That is with the exception of FPS. :)
i will swear with my friends but not at school and ALOT at home "this shitty keyboard wont fucking stop dammit" that's not my typical swearing.
I agree with George Carlin. Its just words, it's the context on how you use the word(s)
Me, personaly I try not to swear.
Never... Never have and never will.
So that started with my parents...The way they spoke to each other... You couldn't tell they loved each other....They couldn't tell they loved each other. They divorced because they verbally abused each other
I view communication as a Gift...I won't openly offend another person in that fashion. It's truely the bottom of humanity.
I swear every day, too much I have to admit but not at official occasions and if there are other people than family members & friends around. At online, I actually never swear because I don't think it belongs to civilized & constructive discussion. Though sometimes it's quite tempting.
P.S. Poll about this subject would be good quite good.

I swear way too much i have to admit, especially if a game goes wrong for me. But i dont like to swear so i try to keep it down in front of the family.
