I know it's already been going on for a few weeks now but, once again, 32 teams from across the globe are facing off for the title of the best national football team on Earth. 64 matches will take place across 12 venues in 11 Russian cities, with the final to be held in Moscow on the 15th of July. There's been some controversy around the hosts, and numbers of visitors seem to be down on average years as a result, but most people are hoping things will go off without any major incident. Let's meet the competitors!

GROUP B

GROUP C

Australia.png Australia

Peru.png Peru

Denmark.png Denmark

GROUP D

Iceland.png Iceland

Croatia.png Croatia

Nigeria.png Nigeria

GROUP E

GROUP F

 Germany.png Germany

GROUP G

Panama.png Panama

Tunisia.png Tunisia

England.png England

GROUP H

Senegal.png Senegal

Colombia.png Colombia

Japan.png Japan

20 of these teams were around for the last tournament in 2014, including that year's winners Germany who will be defending their crown. There are 12 changes, with Iceland and Panama in particular, who are making their debuts at a World Cup.

SO, who are you cheering to win or not (especially if your own country didn't make it this year)? Just HOW much will the Americans pretend that the tournament is meaningless because they didn't qualify this time around? All these questions, and more.....

Oh, and come on England.

Don't really care much about soccer, or other types of sports for that matter. I generally watch the final and semi-final if Germany makes it that far, so looks I'll be spared this time around.

Yes.

Have to admit England put on a pretty good show yesterday, some great saves and what a penalty shootout. Still surprised we won though.

Well, I can't believe England have made it to the Semi-finals.

Croatia are going to be a tough team but I can actually see them getting to a final. Which would be pretty outstanding.

1 - 1 at extra time now. It's looking less likely.

Well, they didn't really care much in the 3rd place playoff yesterday, basically gave it away, so.

That is that for football discussion on here for another 4 years. tonguez.gif
