I finally got around to making the few ships i plan to get done sometime soon to look more like Galaxy variants. in alphabetical order are the Akula, Typhon, Vancouver, and Zion classes.
the zion class currently has a miranda type rollbar on top that isn't textured yet, hence no shot of the top. The lump or whatever you want to call it on the bottom of the galaxy variants is where the forward torps will be, and rear torps will be placed logical spots (ie akula has the rear facing weapons pod, typhon could put torps in the ends of the pylon/strut thingys, and the vancouver could put rear torps on the other side of the deflector. and of course, all the zion's torps will go in the rollbar pod like the miranda's torps.
now i just need to get rid of all the hidden polys... the poly count for each ship is around 6000 right now
good job man, I've been watching all yer posts since the beginning and those ships have gone a LONG way...they look awesome
specially the Akula and the Zion...those are my favorites...the Vancouver's design is cool too

after poly reduction (getting rid of hidden polys), i'll have to find another copy of the SDK. the plugin for export in the build i got failed to initialize.
I'd say that if the hardpoints and everything were ready at this point, only the Akula and Zion would be released. The other two need a lot more texture work. The Vancouver maybe needs the nacelles a bit further forward...
but I'll focus on the Akula and Zion for now! :agreed: :)
might wanna add some phaser strips to those pylons and flat areas near the back (esp ventral) on those galaxy variants.
any idea as to when these will be out? Will you be ballancing these to rick knox galaxy class or the original?
i haven't the slightest clue when they may be out, cause these would happen to be my first ships. but there will be texture work, and i think i may add phaser strips to the ends of the Zion's nacelles as well...
as for balancing...

That station thing you made looks sweet man, i like that kinda station stuff. I have 3dmax myself but I got to lazy to make stuff after I realized I'd have to get textures someway..and the change from milk shape to 3dmax was huge...milk shape was like 1st gread...3dmax is like university so it was a bit confusing lol....anyways...when do u think you'll get the zion and akula out?
