According to this and this article, scientists may have discovered a hyperdrive. Unfortunately, it's based on an unproven theory. Maybe someday they'll make it.

Some interesting articles but it is difficult to say if this makes any sense or is just a hoax because the math involved is complex (6 dimensions!). But I think it's worth trying.

Heard about simular things before (could even be the exact same people though th article is new) , it sounds intresing but it will remain just a theory intill somebody manages to build a proto-type. Theories don't have to be true or can contains flaws (major or minor) so it's not more then just intresting untill they build one. :p

That is so awsome. One day we shall live on Mars. Or a different solar system.

Nice read, but warp engines are still a long way off.

I know this has been said, but it is a nice read, thats all, firstly we have no proof of this theory being right, he just said "oh lets take a big magnet and spin it" h never thought of the math, he may have done the math for the theory, but the main idea for a ship is absurd, and whats more, we have only 2 people who have ever checked this guys math, I dont believe them

Even though there is so little (or no) evidence to substanciate this theory, I think it's a wonderful thing to do research into and go after proving it. It may be 5, 10, 50 or 500 years into the future, but I think it would be fascinating to live to see an engine capable of interstellar space travel.

What I find most intriguing, however, is pushing and breaking the boundaries of that which we know about natural/physical laws and our reality.
