I'll kick off with an obvious one;

Blockbuster / Video rental stores.

It seems archaic now but it was an event for the family to go down to Blockbuster on Friday night to pick the movie to rent, and it gave us some kind of fun just in the event itself.

You had to give some real consideration to what you could rent.  Not like now when you have Netflix and you get bored after 3 minutes and just change the film.

Any others people can think of?

Colorful media. Optimism. Joy of any description. Music. Films and series. Games. A stable world.

Computer magazines and demo discs. They may still be around in some form, but it has been years since I've seen a physical copy of PC Gamer, by way of example.

Kids playing outside.

Websites focused on a single interest in a lasting format rather than episodic content (they're still around, they're just very rare.)

I'd say terrible fashion.

The amount of conspiracies that seemed plausible; nowadays there's too many conspiracy theories to even follow, and everything is on the internet so everyone just proves/disproves each other in an endless loop.

History Channel being about WW2 and Aliens! And  Aliens in WW2!!!

I can't hold it in anymore. I'm going to burst if I don't say it.
