I think I've been watching too much British TV. So I'm sitting in a very much American bar right now waiting for my ride home, and I can't believe I just ordered a pint. Just like that. I've also caught myself calling friends mates from time to time. Any traits or habits you've picked up from foreign TV?

As a matter of fact, kinda. I tend to call my professor "Mistaa" and when I say something like "Striker" or "Breaker", I say "Strikaa" or "Breikaa".... Blame katakana (Japanese) for both....

Next time order a schooner? Aslong as you don't trout slap people, you ain't watching too much TV.

Only word that comes to mind is using "elevator" rather then "lift or "truck" rather then "lorry". But that's only when talking in English.

Can't think of any words when I talk Dutch...

I get that sometimes when I spend too much time reading books.

On the flip side, sometimes I catch myself using the Americanised spelling for certain things - but in my case TV isn't to blame, rather it's the fact that most programming languages have types or classes which are named according to the US English convention - it's got to the point that pretty much on autopilot I'll type out 'color' instead of 'color', 'optimize' instead of 'optimise', etc.

Edit: Americanised...prime example.

Soon our conquest will be complete.

As for me, no. I just use American English.

I was at truck driving school the other day and I told some of my peers I was going to take a dump in the loo. Needles to say, my one friend Lou gave me a puzzled look. I gotta stop watching so much Dr. Who.

Wow. That was incredibly shameless, but it was a tad clever.
