Straight from wiki:

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2] In addition to the offending poster, the noun troll can also refer to the provocative message itself, as in "that was an excellent troll you posted". While the term troll and its associated action trolling are primarily associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels highly subjective, with trolling being used to describe intentionally provocative actions outside of an online context. For example, recent media accounts have used the term troll to describe "a person who defaces internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."

In short: trolls are bad.

essentially a troll is a person whose intent is to argue, cause a disturbance, or disrupt a conversion of some sort.

AKA: a dick head.

Trolls were found in Middle-Earth quite often. Most were killed in the War of Wrath, and the survivors joined Sauron, who was the greatest surviving servant of the first dark lord, Morgoth. In the second and third age, Trolls were Sauron's most feared warriors. Middle-Earth was home to many types of trolls, a few of them being:

Stone Trolls - Trolls that turned to stone when sunlight hit them, they spoke deformed variations of Western.

Cave Trolls - Trolls that were often found in Moria, or other caves. They had black blood, and extremely thick skin. So thick, that the greatest warrior of man, Boromir, struck one and did no damage what-so-ever.

Olog-Hai - Trolls that were created by Sauron, they were agile and fierce. They could speak, but were only known to speak the black language.

But you probably mean internet trolls don't you? If so: Alex37.

Well, not necessarily. IMO they're only bad if you're the victim, otherwise they can be pretty hilarious. Actually, they can be hilarious even when you're the victim... Though I suppose you're not really the victim in that case.

Then tell me, since when is the last time you've seen a hilarious troll that was healthy for a community in general?
