Would it be possible for any of you modder's to make a script that would allow me to warp during quick battle? If this is'nt possible would there be a way to mod the space dust so that it looks like i'm fighting at warp?
Download QBR2.2 from BCfiles (under third party scripting, if I remmeber correctly), you can warp there in the systems specified.
I can't use QBR because it messes the game up. Is there a way to reconfigure the spacedust so that it looks like i'm at warp?
Oh, what happens?
And about the retexture, if I remmeber correctly the game makes a square, and in it it streches the spacedust texture, that square is controlled by a script somewhere, I did knew where, but can't remmember now. You would need to change some values to make that work.
What happens? When QBR loads up the bridge and the starfield go blury and the game locks up. The next time I go on BC the game doen't even load.So then I have to uninstall everything then install it again, and with 87 ships on my game you can imagine how frustrating that is!!
Does anyone know where this script is?
This is a way to find the correct script:
1. Download Total Commander from www.ghisler.com (it is not to large (1.5MB).
2. Ounce installed start it up, and go to Commands/Search (or Alt + F7), in there go to the location where you have the SDK installed (download it if you haven't, it is only unzipping). And in the field Search for, you place *.py Then you check the checkbox "Find text", and you write in the field that becomes enabled: "Stardust.tga" (well at least how the star dust texture is called, not sure about this one). And press Star Search.
Now it will start searching for a py file that contains the text that you filled in the second field.
I think it should only be 1 or 2 files (I think 1).
Double click that file and copy it to the location that you use to edit, and remove the read only protection (by pulling down the menu, and press properties), press Edit (or F4) if you use Notepad to edit files, in there you should change some variables and then, when placed in the correct place (back up the pyc file), and when BC runs, then it should work (mark my words, should).
You can also send me the file that you have searched, the Star Dust file and the Star Streak file, since I don't have BC installed nor the SDK (nasty Windows crash). If you do that, send it then to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope this helps.
I really think Total Commander is very usefull, what other program treats compressed files as Directories?
