So I've been talking to some friends and we are thinking of doing a week long hike next summer. I've been looking at hiking a part of the Appalachian trail, possibly in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. WE all agreed we like varied elevation and topography, with plenty of creeks, waterfalls, and great views. If anyone else has actually done hiking in the park, I wouldn't mind some advice on which stretch of trail to attempt. Or if you have hiked someplace else that you thought was beautiful. Moreover, if anyone knows where to go to seek information on these things, it would be greatly appreciated. I've tried google searches, but haven't found very good information on how long it would take to hike certain portions, and what those portions are like.
It's a long shot, but I've seen stranger threads on here before so I figured, why not?
nice find BadHairDay.
That is definitely a good starting point, thank you very much for the link.
