Fighting is not usually a problem with females unless there is a lack of space, ergo territory,, or if they are still trying to establish a "pecking order".

I had same problem with Maisy (Welsh Corgie) and Jenny (Chow). They used to get along fine til Maisy was spayed and then Jenny attacked her and now they fight if they get within sight of each other. After getting her butt kicked by Maisy, Phoebe (Rat Terrier), and Little Boy (Lhasa Apso) Jenny wont go past barrier from my area of the house to where Maisy lives.

Mine is partially a space problem and other is we think when Maisy was spayed her scent changed and Jenny thinks shes a different dog.

As for cats I have a cat named Bootsie, knicknamed "Puppycat" because when i get home from work she is laying in yard waiting for me, runs up to car, meows til I either reach down and pick her up or at least rub her head and follows me around the yard and house. When I sit down she always wants to lay in my lap or at least lay close to me. When I talk to her she looks at me and "squeaks" or meows. She knows how to sit and roll over.

Shes a stray I picked up off street about 1999? so shes getting old but still likes to be pampered and held and petted, though shes not so big on being held anymore. Prefers to lay with half her body on my leg while I pet her.

try filling an empty soda can halfway with pennies or something, then taping it shut. then if they misbehave, just shake it vigorously. it worked for my dog.

I'm not even sure where to start - but I'll have to start somewhere.

We have two dogs, both three years old. A Parsons-Russel terrier and a Schnauzer. We got them around the same age, the Schnauzer, Rani, from a licensed private breeder. The Parsons-Russel, Mikki, is a dog we got about three, four weeks after Rani, from my uncle. He owns a kennel, professionally breeds dogs and so on.

From the beginning, Mikki was always insecure, and very dominant towards Rani (and every other dog, basically). Fighting occasionally, and not giving up even if she lost. The fights have gradually become even worse. Right now, we're at three, maybe four fights a week. Every excuse is basically good enough for her to pick a fight, even if it's just seeing Rani after she was outside for a while.

The added problem is the fact that Mikki is prone to dislocating her front right shoulder. It's been dislocated for about 14 times now. She can be operated for it, but we still have to look in to how expensive this will be and what the results will be for her mobility, and possible pain.

Right now though, the fighting has come to a really unacceptable level. We've tried everything. Distracting them, enforcing Mikki over Rani, ignoring them, having them fight it out, breaking up fights as soon as they start, everything. We went to a dog behavior therapist this morning, as a final last resort.

According to her, the only thing which could possibly, maybe help was muzzle them constantly for a month, except when eating and sleeping. That might, possibly, maybe help a bit. I personally don't like the idea of doing that, neither does my mother or my sister.

This all sucks. If the operation is expensive, and we can't keep Mikki, I'm not sure whether we can/will do it. We might have to bring Mikki to a pound, or back to my uncle. Problem is, she'll possibly (probably, I fear) be put down when/if that happens. I don't want this to happen, obviously, but there seems to be no alternative.

Fuck. This sucks.

Have you tried seperating them to try and make them miss each other? I'm no expert, but that might work.

this is why i like cats, there not like that and if they are you slap it and it learns. But it would be sad to see them fight or put down, i would personally try the muzzel first.

Cat are shit, they don't learn, they fight even more then dogs and they only come in for attention when they want to. Dogs are better, good luck in getting this worked out Chaos!

You can't make a cat sit or lie down.. you can call them, and theyll come, if you have food. Otherwise theyll keep their lazy asses planted somewhere in the most annoying place possible. lucky you don't have any other cats around.
