I have recently discovered a disturbing trend with today’s parents. Most of us remember growing up. We remember our childhood friends, and how their names were something like Dmitry or Nataliushka. Later on, as parents, we used be to be able to give our children wholesome traditional names like Alenka, Svetlana, Dominik, or Pierre. Sadly, today’s generation of children are left to HOPE that they receive such a tasteful name. Nowadays, parents seem to insist upon coming up with the dumbest excuses for names. I personally have had quite enough of this foolishness. This is a craze that desperately needs to STOP! Here is a list of the top five WORST things with which people have christened their children: 1. God’s Gift 2. Precious Moments 3. Bentley Continental 4. Canada Mountains 5. Kitty Cat We see here is one that is pure silliness, one that is a doll collection, A CAR, a natural geological formation, and a household animal. What has this world come to?

Stupidity has always existed. Except now it's easier to find. Welcome to the internet age.

Don't you have any government agency go through names before they are accepted? Those names of yours certainly don't sound very Russian, so there is one rule they'd break if you had similar naming rules as here. They certainly break another of our rules about the offensiveness of names, as someone called God's Gift or any other of those would be bullied to death in school.

Still, people will always come up with stupid names no matter the legislation, if you are dumb enough to be desperate about having your child called something that you think is unique, you can always misspell old names or simply take the ugliest most retarded semi-foreign name you can come up with, misspell it and then slap that on your kid.

I read a short article in the paper today about how Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon named one of their kids "Moroccan," named for the style of decor in one of the rooms of her apartment. Seriously?

I can't stand it. There was somebody at my high school called 'Pebble' the fuck?!

I think its because they don't really seem to think beyond themsleves(as the parent) or when their child is grown up. Around here it is not so bad but you still do get some of the odd names.

Names like 'Pebble' are downright stupid, but almost all names in the English language have some sort of other meaning. Schofield is something like "house built in a field in Lancaster" or something stupid like that. Naming your children something BECAUSE it has religious ties is kind of dumb however, unless you actually are religious. I don't care what you name your kid, as long as you aren't naming mine. None of those beat 'Facebook' in worst names.

I agree with ya'll. You can see that level of stupidity in Chile, sadly.

People's got some kinda urge to give their kids misspronounced English name, or anything that sounds non-hispanic; Like Brayanathan, Yassuri, Yamilet, Johanathan, Yoni (Ignorant-Chilean version of Johnny) or other stupid things... Just think "Brayan Perez" or "Yan Pol Rodriguez" doesn't sound English, nor foreign at all, just stupid.

I agree with you, I know of two sisters named Sky and Stormy. People are out of hand. What happened to normal names like Emily or Katie. :cort:

:lulz: They could have at least picked a better car, such as, Aston Martin.
