Rules of Engagement: Give a general description of what you do in *real* life. Right now, I'm finishing up my last year of high school, and am in the Marine DEP program. I will be going to Camp Peddleton in August. I've already gone through MEPS, and scored a good, though not perfect, 93 on the ASVAB. I'm an Eagle scout, so I'll graduate boot as a pfc. After that, I'll receive skill training as an FO - forward observer. A good MOS, especially if you decide to transfer to SOF - special operations forces. When I'm 20, I'll sign up for MECEP, the officers training for enlisted men. If I don't fuck up royally before then, I don't see any problems with being accepted. The next few years are going to be very interesting. A couple weeks ago I was talking to some guy on another forum, and he's like "omgz you haven't actually done anything except post mean stuff on the internet". Maybe - but I've probably done more that dweeb.

Reminds me of a boot camp story from a guy I know. A captain was inspecting that recruit platoon, and takes my friend's weapon. Captain: You give it a name son? Friend: Babykiller, sir! Captain: Hmm... what's your MOS, son? Friend: Combat engineer sir! Captain: You should have named your c4 charge babykiller.

It's the man behind the machine who gives it will. Not the machine itself. I always thought that this shit about naming your gun is a bit silly.

Your weapon is your best friend. In the Marines you use your weapon more than you use your dick. Its like a lovely woman. You clean it, nurture it, know every inch of its sleek body. You spend hours taking apart, poring over every little piece, and then assembling it again - if you can't take it to pieces and maintain it blindfolded - you don't know it well enough to use it to its full potential in the field.

Of course you think its silly - you're a civilian. We don't expect you to understand how we work. :p

Of course. I wouldn't know which way to point it.

In the Marines you use your weapon more than you use your dick.

I have a large penis and I'm not afraid to use it. We don't expect Marines to understand. :p

I understand the feeling of course - the military is a mini culture with its own rules and ideas - very different from civilian life.

You clearly have never seen a Marine in action.:p

Is that an offer? I'm straight, sonny. Keep it in your pants, or holster, or whatever.;)

Keep it clean, kiddies.

no more talk about male external reproductive organs and no more talk about babykilling, even though thats the name of your friend's gun.

Oohrah? Oohrah.

And AzH - Calm down ;)
