What if there are aliens why not tell us? Im not am obsessed person looking for proof of aliens. I do not waste time on it. It can not be proven and all these ideas can just make us go insane. Right now, there is a show on tv about aliens. With several alien accounts on it, lately aliens have been all over the TV. More and more they are trying to open our minds to this subject. The discovery channel has a new alien special once every week or every other week or more.

There are a lot of people who claim in these shows that aliens are going to wage war on us, and that they are superior in strenght and hiding on earth in human costumes. If aliens are real, I am not the one to tell you for sure, but if they are real and if so many rumors surround aliens such as them taking us on in war then why the heck does the government not tell us about them?

If they go to war with us shouldnt we know a little something about them!?

Im not saying that I do believe in aliens but if they are real and here on earth ready to attack us, then I think the government has made a huge mistake by not preparing us for it.

It is currently all SCI-FI that does not mean it is real .

Lots of people swear to have proof and evidence, some of these shows are entertaining, I do not claim anything but I spectulate. Give me a few weeks after these shows on tv stop airing and I will forget about it.

Society is not prepared for that kind of knowledge, even if it were proven to exist. Can you imagine the chaos it would cause because of religious beliefs alone? Knowledge wouldn't mean a thing if little green men really were about to invade. Clearly they would be far more technologically advanced than us, and no matter what we knew a war would be futile.

Generally, I agree with Riles. Aliens would be far superior to us, in many aspects. If they've managed to get here for a start, then they are already more knowledged than we are. I would personally say that the general population could handle the knowledge that there is other life out there. Far too many already believe it, they / we just haven't got the proof to go along with it. As Riles said though, it would mostly be Religious factions that would be the biggest problem, them calling everyone who believes in Aliens a Liar. What it would take for them to believe otherwise, is to actually meet one, and I don't think that'll be happening anytime soon. If Aliens are visiting us, then chances are, there has been some sort of government deal struck, which has been made apparent that the Aliens avoid the public. Maybe Aliens are visiting Earth, and only have dealings with our Governments? I wouldn't rule the possibility out.

Personally, I think that we will make first contact when they are a lot of light years away. If any alien would be travelling towards our planet, we would know it centuries before they arrive. And by that time, we will already had made contact with aliens and figured out a way to understand them. I would take a lot of time for them to reach us, and that time would be enough for the human being and alien being to be best buddies.

Lone Raven, what makes you say that? You are assuming that these Aliens don't have the resources necessary to travel vast distances in a short amount of time.

More like a few months.

Personally, i doubt aliens would wage war on us, seeing as how small and unarmed we are. If we had larger planes we wouldnt be such a small threat. And if anything, why wouldnt they be like us? Wishing to discover new life? There are other methods of travelling than the way our space shuttles do. We just cant reach it because of our limitations. Then again, what if we're the most advanced species in the universe(not galaxy, because unless theres life on that Gliese planet, or on Titan, i really doubt there would be any in our galaxy).

I'm not saying that an alien race won't be superior to ours, but even if they travelled to Earth, it would still take lots of time. So unless they have some stealth tecnology ( which they would only use if they didn't want to be detected, which is a bad thing) we would see them coming.

Besides, why would they to come to a dump like our planet?:p

Or they were just out looking for another Planet capable of supporting their life? If they are half as bad as various governing nations we have today, or have had in the past, they wont think twice about wiping us out. If we are the most advanced species in the entire Universe (that includes all the Galaxies) then I ponder what use there was of the Universe before Earth. However, from what you are saying, you believe that because there is no other life within our Solar System, you doubt there to be any other life anywhere else within our Galaxy. May I ask why you think that?

If aliens exist why we always believe that they have better and superior technology than us, maybe they are now even as developed as we are and we will find them not they will find us

Hm, you got a point there. I forgot about Solar Systems for a second. But if other life has existed, and still does, from before humanity, it is very likely they're over-developed(as in having their own trouble with their planet).
