For some reason, certain torpedoes seem to fire through shields, even if the shields are at 100%.For some torpedoes that I use(notably the radioactive torpedo)I might as well not use my shields, as they can't reppel the torpedoes at all!! Does anyone know why this happens?

well, maybe all your torps are making up for all the times the phased plasma torps didn't phase for everyone else. but really, maybe they are phasing.

Well, some times when you and your oponent are moving fast towards each other then the torpedoes might go through the shields, this is due to the fps (aka refresh rate), if one moment the torpedo is almost but not yet (like 1 meter before the shield edge) then the computer calculates the location of the torpedo in the next moment. So if all is very lucky a moment before the torpedo is outside the shields, then the next moment the torpedo is inside the shield, so it doesn't colide with the shield.

I hope this makes sense... It is just a common bug.
