Uh DEFCON is DEFence readiness CONdition, declaring it against another country doesn't really mean anything.
Indeed and there are five levels to it, Five being the normal military operations and one being critical alert status.
The TV show Stargate often confused this with Defcon Five being critical and One as normal.
Nothing. Right now I am basically in the middle of the Berkshires of Massachusetts. In fact, alot of the country's founding documents and alot of valuable art were moved (and stayed) here during WWII, because people figured no one in their right mind would bomb Williamstown.
I would head for Yukon, Alaska, or Nunavut, some place up north where its cold.
DEFCON stands for DEFense Readiness CONdition, and there are five stages: DEFCON Five--Normal peacetime activities DEFCON Four--Increased intelligence watch and security DEFCON Three--Armed Forces on standby, awaiting further orders DEFCON Two--Armed Forces ready to commence combat operations DEFCON One--Armed Forces deployed for combat operations In a National State of Emergency, seven different Alert Conditions (LERTCONs) exist, consisting of the five DEFCONs and two Emergency Conditions (EMERGCONs). The Defense Readiness Conditions are controlled by POTUS and JCS. It should also be noted that different braches of the Armed Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, etc) and different installations or command groups can be activated at different DEFCONs.
