Hi there im trying to get models from Max5 into BC but am running into a few probs using the various methods around they are

1, Using the Freedom Force Exporter from Max is great works a treat but the only copy of Nif2Nif is a 1.1 version with a GUI that does not work. This would be the ideal method for me as Max is best for these little jobs :)

2, The other option is to make the model save it as something then take the Milkshape route. Again this seems ok till Milkshape dies because the models im using overwhelm it as its was never meant to handle high poly models. using smaller poly models i have some success but because of the constant format changing a lot of stuff gets lost or altered

3. Assimview is poss another way but the milkshape plugins were made by them and thier interface reminds me of old Amos progs on the Amiga i have nightmares about it.

My main question is who uses what for getting models into BC if any of you are using any of the above methods esp 1 any advice you give will be top stuff

Thanking anyone in advance on this

i have max 3 and 4.2 i use max 4.2 to make the models as the tools are easier to use and there are better modifiers there but i use max 3 to export to nif so if you can get hold of a max 3 copy do so as they make life sooooooo much easier your only other alternative is to get some1 to nif it for you such as myself or starforce but you shouldn't rely on others as they have projects of there own to attend to plus if you do have to use some 1 make sure that eithor the models textures are applied already in the format you give them to the converter (perfect format for this is the sfc .mod format) or make sure there are very few texture files that go in very obvious places!!

hope you get your work converted soon

Thanks For That Tim

I will have to sort myself out max 3 i take it from your reply that two copies of Max can coexist on 1 PC?

ya max 3 and 4 can coexist but max 4 and 5 cant after 3 they changed the system of control for max from a box plugin in the back of the pc (now not necissary to run max 3) to a program called C_Dilla which checks the regestration data

if you are lucky max 6 will be out soon you might be able to "aquire" a copy of that
