They're trying. They're filing lawsuits against everyone they can catch pirating music with LimeWire or any other illegal methods.

Unfortunately, the Internet is a very hard thing to monitor and regulate.

Yes, at the expense of other people's money and copyrighted material. I wish the gov't could just shut it down.

:uhoh::uhoh::uhoh::uhoh::uhoh::uhoh: Can't some high level group shut down Lime Wire altogether. Not by fileing lawsuits, but by taking drastic measures (i.e. arresting the owner/CEO or whatever hes called, shutting down its servers, sending viruses to its servers, etc.) Lol. Yeah. I don't like Lime Wire. The CIA, NSA, and FBI should get involved and drive them into the ground because there are bands and companies losing lots of money due to Lime Wire.

Not everything on Limewire is illegal (most of it is though), and its hard to shut it down because so many people are using it and can keep the file sharing network going. They stop one or two people, and three or four more pop up.

Its the same with Torrents. The amount of piracy there can make LimeWire look like nothing.

In this day and age, music pirating is going to happen, unless you get totally draconian with internet use monitoring. Everything would be alot better if record labels realized people don't like paying ridiculous prices for CDs, and if bands could get their act together, produce some good music, and then go on tour and make a killing off of ticket/merch sales.

DOWN WITH THE INTERNET....lol. Along with Lime Wire you would have to deal with Bear Share, Bear Flix, and some other P2P and torrents sites.

There's a lot more P2P programs that are better and more used than Limewire, but people always bring up Limewire. Torrents are what really spreads most media.
