I personally don't like reddit either but regardless of how I or we personally feel, the rest of the internet has decided it prefers it, so it's just the new reality. There's actually a lot of reasons why Reddit is a bad thing compared to forums, but it's just a new mentality now, people just prefer the convenience of it.

I personally think it's because of memes.

Convenience, information specificity, faster time interaction (main reason I don’t use the forums as often is I’m on mobile 99% of the time and it’s a bit more difficult).

I do enjoy the forums for how much information is stored and that the people on them are much more knowledgeable about specialized topics, but if you’re just chatting it makes it difficult to pivot conversations easily.

As for Reddit, it’s a bit faster with getting the news.  Granted like anything it all needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but without Facebook it makes it easier to see what the world is talking about for the most part and good for an overall summary.

Anyway, long time no talk!  Hoping you’re doing well!

What do you mean by pivoting conversations?

Nice to see you too, btw. Could have sworn last time I saw the name MoreGun was when this place was still called FileFront. Weren't you one of the more active modders in Jedi Outcast/Academy? Though I could be mistaking you for Inyri Forge. Or maybe she was the one active in KOTOR/TSL. God all the memories that are like a dream that I can't make sense of anymore.

Basically, changing subjects and whatnot.  On the forums where time is taken to respond, a conversation stays on topic for a long time, but it can be easily, and more fluidly, done with immediate text and response.
