The 45* angle and side torpedo tubes fire at random, however fore and aft work fine. Just the other ones go off while firing the rest of them. I've disabled Dumbfire but that had no affect.

I've got a thread that may be the problem but I dunno what to do about it.

Its to do with the weapon groups, and I had a ton of trouble getting it working properly on my Nebula HP. Basically each torpedo cluster needs to have it own weapon group;

Forward, Aft, Port Forward, Starboard forward, as I remember.

Check my nebula HP, as its a while since I did it, and can't remember exactly. The Akira HP has it as well.

You need to sort out your weapon groups and firing string, and you should probably sort out your weapon IDs as well...

For example, my sovreign re-fit (that I'm currently doing the phasers for) has 3 forward firing tubes, and 3 aft ones:

Forward 1, Burst-Fire, Forward 2 Aft 1, Aft 2, Aft 3

To get them to fire singly and in a triplet I would have to do the following:

I gave them Weapon IDs from 0-5, (0-2 for fore torps, 3-5 for aft).

This sets the order that the tubes will fire in single fire mode.

I put the 3 fore tubes in weapon group one. I put the 3 aft tubes in weapon group two.

My firing string (located in the root weapon - torpedos - property) is:

0;single;12;triplet

ALL your torp tubes are in weapon group 0. When your selected target is in your forward fire arc, firing torpedos will fire tubes 0-2. When in your aft arc firing torpedos will fire tubes 3-5.

With Triplet selected, firing torpedos when your target is in your aft arc will mean the the program first sees if group 1 can fire (they can't as the target is not in their fire arc). It then sees if group 2 can fire (they can) and fires all three tubes at once.

For group fire you need to adjust the off-set angle that skews the torps to stop them colliding with each other. This is found in the individual weapon property.

Hope that helped, if it didn't, post exactly what you want to do, and I'll try and help some more...

To get side or angled torp tubes firing correctly its all down to weapon groups. Weapon groups will try and fire in order, so you should try and assign a weapon group for each vector of the ship. eg. forward, aft, port, starboard, ventral and dorsal. As you know there are only five weapon groups and six vectors, go figure.

So, you need to put ALL you weapons in the group relevant to their vector, inc phasers, torps and pulse weapons. Phasers and pulse weapons also have arcs which will allow them to fire along other vectors as well. Torpedoes don't which is why grouping is important for them.

First thing to do is sort your phaser and pulse weapons into the right groups, and then put your torp launchers in, for example port weapons could have the following in it;

Group ID:3 (as an example)

Weapon ID / Weapon 1 / Port Main Phaser 2 / Port Nacelle Phaser 3 / Port Pulse Phaser 4 / Port Torpedo Launcher

Starboard weapons would be

Group ID:4

Weapon ID / Weapon 1 / Star Main Phaser 2 / Star Nacelle Phaser 3 / Star Pulse Phaser 4 / Star Torpedo Launcher

This is how I now set up my ships, it also helps Felix with his manouvers.

If any of this is wrong, or anyone knows anything more about this, pls let me know.
