Wow, it's hard to believe it's almost Winter (December 21). The years/months/weeks/days just blend together so quickly now, don't they? What are you doing this Winter? Also, share your favorite Winter memories here.

The things I remember best from last year:

Playing TF2 while it was snowing, with my blue case cathodes on. The weird family christmas The awful new year's eve.

There's a graveyard across the road from where I live; generally when it snows I'll go down there in the morning with my whiskey, have a good time. Looks quite pretty in the dark, snow covered angels. Not a lot of people around obviously, you're not really meant to drink outside in Scotland.

Things i remember from last winter:

Shoveling mass amounts of snow Scraping mass amounts of snow and ice off my car Not being able to go anywhere for two days because our road was closed during a bad storm The snow drifts in the driveway being as high as my car during that same storm It getting close to 0*F a couple days.

Yeah... I'm not really a winter person. Living in PA and getting the tons of snow that we usually do every year just makes it worse.

You know you're getting old when snow becomes a hindrance rather than a cause for fun. =p

You dont find many threads like this one anymore.. - I'd have to say my dad reading chirstmas stories to us, - and being the oldest son I'd always go out and pick out the christmas tree with my dad, -and lastly the dreaded huge family get together in the middle of maryland... hahaha

This year we're expecting below normal total snowfall. I miss Syracuse winters with 150+ inches of snow. Shoveling is great exercise.

Winter is already here, although right now it's only -4 degrees Celsius outside. The first snow weeks ago didn't last, but what little remains from the storm on Thursday is reinforced by more also at the very moment, so this time it looks very promising especially when considering the forecasts predicts lower temperatures and more snow, too bad there is all that ice below it.

Thursday was a mess, I do have pretty decent studded tyres, but that didn't really stop the car from sliding all over the place, and of course of all days I had to choose that for towing a car with summer tyres for a few hundred kilometers. We were an inch from giving up when the roads weren't even ploughed when we finally arrived to pick it up, despite spending at least three hours on the icy roads just to get there.

Last winter was an unusually cold one, although I do remember a few colder days than -22 degrees Celsius even down here in the warm south, the time the cold lasted wasn't something you get too often with the sea and all. Normally our winters are more about slush and darkness than snow or cold, but that can't be said about last winter. :)
