Create the ultimate Forgotten Hope server.

Just don't install Windows on it, something tells me a Cray doesn't handle the blue screen of death too well.

DavetheFoImagine the amount of porn you could download.....

Or um, yeah, you could, um, play games. Yeah.

porn starts repeating itself after awhile, i'd be more interesting to make a movie database with all the plot details and characters biographies and whatnot, or use it as wikipedia's main data storage computer, That would probably be a better application.

Who said curing cancer? LoL, you serious.

A few of them are able to simulate an entire universe, or make an exact copy of Earth complete with AI and weather tracking.

I doubt that. You have any idea of what your talking about or just rambling?

Those computers would be used for calculations, not gaming lol.

Obviously the worlds most powerful computer is the human brain, or else these computers would never come into being.

Can you do trilion calculations a second? Probably no, so stop being stupid.

The human brain is not a computer as it adapts and changes all the time. A computer is conditioned to do certain things and can never do things it wasn't programmed to do.

No, but it can do things a computer can't do such as imagine the possibilities. Without the human brain there would be no computers. It is far more complex, and far more powerful.

If your world is bound to simple measurements then I feel sorry for you. Far more important then being able to do trillions of calculations is the ability to imagine a machine that could do trillions of calculations.

LoL you don't give up kid, do you?

A computer is programmed. Are you programmed? No, so no matter how much you want to, lol, your brain will never be a "computer".

Are you saying your smarter than a computer? Well that wasn't the issue, and you can't compare yourself to a computer because a computer is programmed.

A brain doesn't have the characteristic of a computer therefore it cannot be one. Get it?

Are you smarter than a computer in doing things a computer is programmed? I doubt so. Try playing chess against a computer.

Kashparov was beat by blue gene just to let you know.

I agree, but thats not the issue. The issue is comparing something that adapts and learns with something that is programmed. You can't compare them.

A computer is anything which computes, so , yes our brains are computers. And they do things that are literally impossible for a computer to do(atleast at this moment) where as a human could do the same calculations that a computer does, simply slower. A computer cannot imagine what the next big leap in technology will be, a computer cannot invent said technology. It is the human mind which determines the power of all other computers, and thus is the most powerful.

Did you just call Afterburner a kid? :cort:

And we can't do the things a computer can do because we need most of our brain to control our bodily functions, if we could use the whole thing, we'd die. (Unless there is something with Cryrogenics in the near-future...)

Also, the brain is superior because it can live. If a computer was given A.I. and became "Self-Aware" or "Alive" it would go insane, because it'd be stuck as a computer, and wouldn't be able to feel emotions. However our brain can cope with this.

Well maybe your brain is a computer. In order to have the characteristics it needs to be programmed. Which it isn't.

A machine that can be programmed to manipulate symbols. Computers can perform complex and repetitive procedures quickly, precisely and reliably and can quickly store and retrieve large amounts of data.
