it wouldn't be illegal, bit you would have to check to see if it contravenes any of the rules of ebay.

I think what he meant was, accept donations via eBay to pay for his kidney transplant operation and any overdue money used personally to purchase luxury items...

Well not exactly pay for my transplant because we in the uk dont pay to go into hospital but every hospital or other business like that need extra money from either donatons and charaties etc. So what im trying to say is that put half to hospital and half towards my funds.

Hope that cleard a thew things up

hes not saying its for his kidney transplant, he said some amount of the money would go to kidney disease, but more of the money will go to his new plasma. If people want to donate to charity they can do so on their own accord.

What he means (I think) is, half the donations people give him will go to charity (hospitals, apparently), whilst the other half will go towards his plasma screen fund. I don't think he intends to trick people by saying he will give it all to charity but then turn around and not give any of it to charity, which is the impression some people seem to have got.

I don't think it would be illegal (whether it contravenes the T&Cs of Ebay or not I don't know), but it wouldn't be very successful. People who just want to give money away for the sake of it will just give it to charity for themselves, as Donavan said. That way, 100% of their money goes to a charity of their choice. Let's face it, some charities deal with infinitely more worthy causes than your plasma screen. Schemes that only give 50% of the money to charity are usually special offers on products or suchlike, where people would get something out of it.
