History's 'WWII in HD' trailer --The Live Feed

Look at how good the trailer looks. The trailer itself isn't in HD, but look at how great it looks. The grainyness and color blotches and streaks are all going to be there, since it's sixty-five year old footage. Looks good.

AND it's narrated by Gary Sinise. He and Morgan Freeman should narrate everything.

Err.. for HD film you need to film with special cameras that can record in HD. So it's not possible to get historic material in true HD format. You could sharpen the contrast perhaps, play around with resolutions a bit but it wouldn't become HD.

Hence why HD broadcasting is of programs is taking of slowly, it requires a broadcasting network to replace it's cameras to say, record their news bullentin with HD cameras in order to broadcast it in HD.

:agreed

The video is interesting but I wonder how much artistic license those people take. Images and sounds recorded with 1940s technology can only be improved so far.

definately see improved clarity especially on the very first scene with the planes. almost thought it was a scene from today. weather this is in true HD or not that doesnt matter, what matters is what its showing. this seems to have some really good unseen footage in color. which will make this set a must have. whens is this released or how much will it be?

While I'm always interested in seeing new footage and images from WW2, I'm skeptical about the advertising. Sounds more like their trying to get more viewers with a simple label. Enhanced quality, perhaps, but not high definition quality.
