Hey. I just heard that Youtube was thinking of sharing their revinue with people who post videos. Like if you get so many hits they would send you some of the money that they made from your video. Does anyone know if this is true? If so then i wonder how it's all going to work.

I believe it is a "We put an ad at the end of your video, if people click it, you get paid"

To be honest, youtube has completely overgrown with people trying to rise to fame and doing anything to achieve that. If you're a frequent youtuber, then you may notice the conspiracy against people like mia rose and lonelygirl who have apparently been assisted in rising to number one on youtube by literally having youtube create them.

Having them give money for popular videos would cause mayhem as everyone would try anything and everything to get their videos popular.

Ah. I don't know. But still that would be sweet. Either way making money from posting a video on the inter net would own. Wouldn't matter to me how they decided to give it to me :p

Making money is always a good deal. I think they're doing this to increase uploads of original material. They'll probably get some high quality indepentantly made movies from some poor film school students.

Well one thing is for sure, you would have to get an astronomical amount of hits for internet marketing and advertising especially, to take any kind of effect.

Having them give money for popular videos would cause mayhem as everyone would try anything and everything to get their videos popular.

Yes, and this would be giving youtube plenty of publicity, activity, and exposure. Not only that, it drives business competition that results in an overall quality increase in what is being produced.

Might be a feasible opportunity for some people as well, if they want to buckle down and get serious. On a final note, look at the exposure youtube is getting just off of making the idea public?

Youtube is owning, ladies and gentlemen.

I heard about it on my yahoo front page. But I didn't really understand most of it. I am not a huge Youtube-er anyway.
