since Gears of War came out for 360, every time I played it at my friends house, I couldn't help but see the form of a Space Marine. The bulkiness, the speed, the kicka$$ engine of the game itself. I am no modder, but I really want this to happen.

Really, I would be satisfied with just skins. The Gears already are huge, as are space marines, and just as superhuman. But, in my fantasies (not those fantasies) it would be possible to make a whole f***ing campaign. Sweet man. That would be frikkin sweet.

FOR THE EMPORER!

That would be awesome! But who'd the Space marines fight? The Locust seem too smart for Orks and too bulky to be Tau, too agile to be Necrons, too alien to be Chaos, too big for Eldar (both types) and too small to be traitor guard. So....who'd they fight? cause there just not like any of the races in 40K. Although it would be awesome to fight them as the tau/Kroot. Wretches as Kroot hounds, Grenaders as Kroot and snipers to be Tau warriors and same with the Grunts...that would be most awesome.

Go for it people!:assimilate:

They could be chaos, too alien? What is more alien than a human twisted and corrupted by the ruinous powers? Orks, yup! See they don't have to be like the locust that's why its a mod. Sure the base would be locusty but the setting is fantastic, ruined world humans on the brink. Perfect for ork enemies, especially with the chainsaw! Nothing would be more awesome than hacking apart orks. Certainly the Gears are almost Space Marine in their proportions

Let me say here, that this is not by

any means based on Dawn of War!!!

This is based on the tabletop game by

Games Workshop. Anyone who wants to help at all, contact me at JEWBOYLQQKIE@msn.com and I'll get back to you. Contact me if you want to help, but are lost in any way, like if you've never heard of Dark Eldar, or even 40K. I think that this can work, but not without support. I have discussed this with a friend, and we decided the smartest way to do this is to base everything off of the game engine. This would make it actually possible. Here is what we have so far, and is liable to change. The enemy will be Chaos. Chaos and the Adeptus Astartes both share weapons, like the gears and the locust, and both are humanoid . . . kinda. The exact details I still need to figure out, but this seems to make the most sense. The weapons are also sticking with GoW's existing engine: Hammerburst will be the bolter (bolter has a 2 round burst) Lancer is a storm bolter (bolter but has automatic firing) Pistol is already like a bolt pistol, so . . . Some things must be remade, but still following the basic design of the orig. gun (body position, size, ammo count) Boomshot should be a Plasma Cannon (both are held at body-ish level, and both are the most powerful handheld weapon) Shotgun is not used by any space marine unit, except the scouts, but it would make sense if there were either a melta or a flamer, both template weapons, both powerful. Magnum is the only other pistol worth mentioning, the plasma pistol. See below for incorporating the tabletop rules to GoW (i.e. overheat) Longshot is a sniper, also a weapon only used by scouts. Because of its positioning and its range, I think a lascannon would be appropriate Then there are those weapons that must be completely redone. These are the ones that I am completely uncertain as to what they should be. Torque Bow. The only thing that comes to mind is a stake crossbow. This would be sweet, A) if the witch hunters weren't b*tches and B) if it was an anti demon weapon. If we were to completely redo it, no space marine army would be without a heavy bolter (3 round heavy fire) Hammer of Dawn. No idea what it could be. Any idea would be welcomed. If I make the beserker a Bloodthirster (which would be much harder to kill, seeing as it comes straight from the warp), this should be some kind of anti-daemon Ordo Malleus thing. Not too fluent on daemonhunters. If anyone could fill me in on it, that would be great. The enemies, in general, are as follows: Boomers: Obliterators Berserkers: Bloodthirsters, or if I want to make it somewhat possible, a defiler or dreadnought. Ram: Since there is no real leader marching with his men to imminent immolation, there would be squad leaders and commanders (as a side note, for those of you who don't know who the chaos leader is and where he is, all you need to know is that he is comfortable where he is upon his throne on a planet of skulls.) Wretches: see below The possible scenarios range around. Blood Angels and Word Bearers are a good rivalry Ultramarines and Emperor's Children Dark Angels and the Fallen Mantis Legion and the Red Corsairs (a favorite of mine) Another scenario is that the Grey Knights came to this planet to purge it of Chaos. Their campaigns are sometimes long and repetitive, so their lack of communication wasn't alarming. Following the last of a small hive of tyranids, the Deathwatch (alien hunters) come to that planet to find the grey knights massacred, and the chaos legion there infested with the small force of tyranids that fled the battle. This last one would make the wretches terma/hormagaunts, possibly the berserker a carnifex, and have it make sense to have the big creatures that shoot the spores at you (you have to kill them with the hammer in GoW) Ill make something more official, but not now. Any ideas, please contact, and be patient. I might take a while to get to you.

Jewboy knows what hes talkin about. i just have some additions. Hammer of Dawn: Possibly be a Deamon Hammer. If we did have the beserker be a Bloodthirster it would make sence to have a anti deamon weapon. Junker: Judging by the lack of weaponry on the junker, i think it would be a Rhino APC. In the start of the game u should start on a ship, and u would get ur mission specs. then u would make the drop to the surface. Also after every mission u might go back to get more info on the next mission and to get more weapons and gear. The Beserker also could possibly be a Defiler which would be very scary to see coming at u. I believe that the majority of the enemys would be chaos, like the regular soldiers and the boomers and beserker, but i believe that the City's defences could have been weakened by a genestealer cult. So the wretches would be Gene stealers. Due to the nature of the Chaos attack, ordinary Guardsmen wouldnt stand a chance. The Stranded could be the remains of the PDF fighting to servive. The 4 man squad(Marcus, Dom, Cole, Baird) could be a death watch kill team. Marcus would be a Dark Angel veturan sarge,(i think Dark Angel cause of marcus's past of disloyaly), Dom would be a Angels Encarmine veturan, Cole would be a Black Templar Veturan, Baird would be a Red Scorpions techmarine cause he is the one who knows the ways of the Omnissiah. ;)

By the way as a after thought, the Brumak would be a Hive Tyrant with vemon cannon, Corpser would be a Bio Titan, Grubs are the Chaos Space Maines, Granadiers are Chosen,Theron Guards are Choas Havocs, Scouts are Horrors, Granadier Elite is the Aspiring Champions.

Also, there are some features that are not W40k related, per se, but would make this accurate. I can hardly believe that if you were hiding behind a sand bag and got shot at with a plasma cannon, you could fight on, unabraised. Like the furniture, I think everything, save columns because we don't have the capacity to make buildings collapse, should be at some point destructible. Using the furniture engine, explosions would destroy your cover, making it so much more intense when you are diving out of the way of the boomer/obliterator's plasma cannon.

Tyranids? It wouldn't be hard to pass them off as a new strain, no matter what they look like.

Also, from the books and various artwork, it looks as if everything is arch based, like cathedrals (makes sense seeing as the imperium is based off the prescence of the Emperor) which means that everything is destructible. We can use columns as neccesary for effect. Also, though this is more for the later stage when we actually build, we need statues. Emperor, Sanguinius, Dorn, Russ, El'Jonson, Guilliman, Vulken, Corax, Manus, and since some settings will be in ancient pre-heresy temples, Fulgrim, Perturabo, Curze, Angron, Mortarion, Magnus the Red, Lorgar, Alpharius, and of course, Horus, all in their human space marine form. Anything that might help let me know.
