Recently my dad was able to get a DVD/CD drive from his work place, and I am borrowing the game from a cousin. I am quite impressed with this game so far, been playing it for almost three days nonstop. The only thing that frustrates me is how limited some missions are when the rest of the game is so open ended. Every single mission up until "Farewell, My Love" I have been able to complete on the first attempt, but this current mission is literally driving me crazy. For the last six hours I have been trying over and over again to complete this but I can't, something always happens to cause me to lose. What is really frustrating is that if you knock a car off the road and into the water, a little while later it magically reappears on the road. A pity my car can't do that. About a half hour ago I came so close to completely it, but at the last checkpoint I hit a pedestrian crossing the road and flipped over the front bumper. I know America has some problems with obesity, but an old granny should not be able to completely stop and flip a speeding Buffalo. :Puzzled: I just hope that I can complete this mission quickly before I break something. I absolutely hate driving to begin with, doesn't help when the one mission that you have to complete to open up more requires driving. Bikes > Motor vehicles

Yeah I feel your pain trust me,, Some of them driving missions are just a pain.. I try not to go all out but to just keep up with them passing when I can all while trying not to hit anything.. And when Iam out front I try not to get over excited and drive with great caution lol.. When done just right you can spin them around, just try not hitting them to hard, or you screw yourself in the process lol.. Took me a few times to beat them races.. Just wait till you race the figure 8,, them guys in that race are evil.. But I finally won it..

Well, there goes my old mouse, I just broke it and threw it out the window because I am getting nowhere with this. Stupid mission, any other one I don't mind repeating, but I HATE driving, and it takes so long to get to the starting point to begin with. In some review an idiot said that some missions might have to be repeated a few times before you discovered a new way of completing it. :uhh: This mission is so darn scripted, you get a car with crappy to no handling and is way too fast for that type of terrain. Why can't I have my tractor back? Wu Zi whatever was a breeze with it. Darn competitors seem to have perfect handling, I could have a huge lead, but as soon as I slow down to make a turn, they go zipping by without any problems. I am tempted to just uninstall the game, I am obviously never going to pass it. No part of any game is worth repeating over and over for seven hours straight.

Use the scripting to your advantage. Use shortcuts right at the beginning. There are 2 or 3 places where you can cut through instead od following the road, like the other cars do. Once you're ahead of them, drive carefully at a constant speed, but don't floor it. In the place with the barns, go around, not through, and cut through when you go on the road again through the fence. I got it the 2nd time. As for the car being crappy, you're right, but the secret is tapping the keys instead of holding them down.

I've been trying all of that. When everything is going fine it's something else like running into a person that flips the car. :uhm:

Took another two hours but I did finish it after "cheating". At that bridge on the last stretch I caused two tractor trailers to crash into each other effectively blocking off the road. How lucky I was... Unfortunately there won't be any luck like that for flight school. Any suggestions? This game isn't all that PC-friendly. Doesn't allow rudder control for a joystick, and the aircraft doesn't behave like a real plane. Even BF1942 had easier and more realistic flying. The loop around airfield and then landing seems impossible to do with a keyboard. :banghead:

Again, I found tapping the keys is the best way to control unruly vehicles. Get on the plane and just fly, practicing banking and landing. To circle the airfield and land, I let go of the W after hitting the first corona and just banked. Then, at the end, I banked before the last corona to align it with the runway and then slowed down and lowered the landing gear. I got bronze.

Ah, thanks for the tip about the acceleration, whenever I flew I was constantly holding down "W", that's why I was having trouble flying. Cheers.

Once you have more experience, you can keep accelerating right until the end for silver or gold.

Where is the flying school? Is it in Las Venturas?
