I know that a lot of people have been talking about the pornographic mod for the PC version of San Andreas. It can be found here at SanAndreas Files: http://grandtheftauto.filefront.com/file/Hot_Coffee_Mod;44662 It's the file of the week there. This screen shot pretty much says it all about the mod: *Warning* THIS SCREEN SHOT, although censored, MAY CONTAIN IMAGES THAT ARE INAPROPRIATE TO CHILDREN. http://grandtheftauto.filefront.com/screenshots/File/44662/2 I just saw a news video clip from MyYahoo concerning the modification, it didn't show the explicit content, it just explained it. Rockstar says the nudity wasn't built into the game and just covered up, that the mods creator scripted the mod entirely from scratch. The mods creator (who wasn't identified) says that the content was always there, and he just unlocked it. The end of the clip went on to imply that all video games, including console games are at risk for this "after-release editing." No doubt that this will surely bring the ESRB into the matter, and possibly congress, and this will lead to a scrutiny of all video games. What do you think? Personally, I didn't care for the fact that the report implied that Console games could be modified in this way, when in fact they can not. Secondly, I feel that gamers should be able to mod games however they want. But I think the question is in this case, is did Rockstar include the content in the actual game, or was it added in later by the gentlemen who engineered the mod/nudity patch? P.S. If I might speak to the moderators of these forums, I'm not looking to create any problems, I just think that this is an issue worth discussing. Please, if you absolutely feel the need, go ahead and edit certain parts of my post.

Well, I don't know much about editing, nor how editable the engine is, but I have a feeling the creator of the mod is telling the truth. I doubt someone could do that from scratch with existing tools, it just looks too well done. The only real way to know is to go into the code itself and see what you can find...

Don't worry as long as you don't actually post nudity, you are not in violation.

In terms od "Who did it" I think they are both lying in a sense, Because I'm positive, from what I have seen in the game files, that rockstar had it in there, just disabled.

Now, As for the SERB, o whatever else... What is the problem? The game is rated M, and I'm not sire but in europe it is "18+". So, tell me, How can rckstar be at fault? Porn is made and sold in movie places? Want to sue them now? :p

What it come down to, is if someone has the idiocy, to buy a game with that rating for someone underage who they know, can't handle it, they are at fault, not Rockstar, not even the modder...

Although, on a side note, I find the mod to be silly at the least and, am emarrased that it is the most popular...

There's already a thread about this topic: http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=204626 ;) One thing I really hate is that R* is calling the person(s) who did this "hackers". Now, from modder to hacker there's a big difference. Modders create new content for games, based on what the creators put there in the first place. Hackers, on the other hand, try to break into computer networks to cause damage, or just to prove they could. R* should just own up to their mistake and apologize. I'm waiting for somebody to go public and show that if you do a clean install of the game and look at the files, you'll find that the animations, textures and code are already there. It's just a matter of time.

Well that one is about it on the news, this is regarding the creation and who is to be held responsible... :p

Well, there was also a mod to make the Elite Guards in Return to Castle Wolfenstien nude, and I don't think nudity was programmed into that game. I think someone who knows what they're doin' can make the mod ( heard there's even a nudity mod for the Sims..dunno cause I don't play it ). Fact is San Andreas is rated MATURE anyways. Go get a private dance at the "Ranch", you'll see most all the body parts lend themselfs easily to modification.:moon:

True...

The nudity mod in the sims, was just an ecploatation of the way it was developed... It was already there, also.

Come to think of it, I think the Nude models in Hot Coffee were added by the developer of the mod, but the script to do the hanky panky was already there.

I honestly believe it was created, left out, but without nudity. When another popular GTA site had it's master "cracker" aka "game programer" find this, they were the first to do so and they posted about it. When they posted information about it, it indeed showed fully clothed people engaged in some kind of sexual mini game. RockStar isn't filled with newbies, and I am sure they knew someone would crack this code and expose it, so I don't think they would risk having nudity be apart of it.

This person claiming to have just found it like that is full of shit me thinks. I have no clue why he/she would risk legal entanglements with a large company like RockStar. Some people are very foolish. :uhm:

Personally, I didn't care for the fact that the report implied that Console games could be modified in this way, when in fact they can not.

Sure they can. If the code is there and you have the proper skills and computer hardware and software, you can unlock it. I believe this was first found on the playstation version of the game, however not everyone is an uber programer and able to unlock it. PC version, it can be unlocked, then made into a mod for people to download or edit a file. Easier.

Sometime games get worldwide know for scandals in media and scripts were put there on purpose so someone would unlock them (or maybe hired to unlock). Just look how much attantion was placed around San andreas in last week, everyone knows about it and that atracted new customers
