I am trying to buy Half Life 1 off Steam, but my parents don't trust it (I don't have a credit card =() so Im asking people if they've bought something off Steam. Is Valve trustworthy?

Of course it is. A big company like that cannot afford cheating customers. Steam's plan is to sell through it, they cannot cheat. Thousands of customers have bought through Steam, so have I.

Ah, thank you very much. I am also wondering if they send it through the mail or if I download it directly off Steam once I buy it?

No, if I remember correctly: You just need to select the pack you buy, give your info and credit card number and that's it, All in Steam.

My mum use to be like that, you just need to get the point across that they are a big company and if they did rob your money then you could take legal action!

Well, I wanted DOD:S. Being a minor with no credit card, I asked my parents to help me out. After I'd shown them how it works(the whole Steam system) and how it'll just load it unto my computer, they had no problems with it. Valve even let me play DOD:S while they "processed" my order...

Only to open a dialog with my receipt some hours later, minimizing DOD:S! :-)
