Has anybody noticed how drastically Gman's voice sounds in HL2 compared to teh ending of HL1 and Oppossing force? it seems deeper and has more scratchier tones to it. Also, he has "lapses" in his speech as if it was generated by a machine in the 2nd one, where in the first one he sounds more like a regular man. any thoughts on this? Personally i like the old voice better but the new one seems to fit his updated high res look.
My first answer would be the advancement of our world's technology. Maybe Valve actually wanted the G-Man to sound more like he does in HL2 and Episode One, but the technology to do so back in 96-98 was either far too expensive or did not exist.
My second answer would be, it does not really matter. The G-Man's voice does allow us to believe that he may not be human, or is not familiar with the human language, ect. But I do not think his voice will become something of that great importance, it will most likely be explainable once we learn everything about the G-Man.
