Not sure as to why. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything. Next time you go there, ask them the same question.

If want the game though, just get it from steam.

In 2005 October, Valve changed their publisher from Vivendi Sierra to EA Games. It resulted that HL2s were out of stock for awhile. It shouldn't have affected retails in last few months.

Their supplier or some confusion maybe the problem..

I bought HL 2 Game of the Year Edition (It says EA on the side) at EB about 3 weeks ago.

OMG!

I forgot Valve changed from Sierra to EA.

I still recommend buying the game through steam. When you install from the disk it will get updates from steam taking up to 300+ minutes, depending on connection type.

Buying and D/L through steam will take just as long.

It only took me about an hour to update HL 2,HL:S, HL:LC, and CS:S after I installed them, Plus you get a nice box. Also Walmart has CS:S, and HL2 Game of the Year Edition.

CD's/DVD's don't last for ever :)

Anyway the main question has been answered.
