Eli is dead from the moment he mentions G-man, if he gave a long speech to u bout Gman the games biggest mistery would dissappear and it´d mean a pause in Gordons non-stop adventure Anyway i dont think he knew that much bout him I guess Gman will get killed by some of his "bosses" in further sequels

Gordon's adventure is fueled by instinct and the current situation a.k.a. combine vs humanity

he isn't doing all this just so he can see the Gman and say hello *shake hands* lets work together again..... he's helping his ex-friends Issac Kleiner etc. etc. to win against the combine

Light Spoiling of the Portal ending

Spoiler: Show

well in Portal, GLaDOS was partially insane..

and during the rolling credits you can see some Cores becoming active (at the cake scene)

what if Eli's body was held in stasis inside the vortessence (which to me seems like fusion of vortigaunt essence)

Now, with GLaDOS being insane, probably because she is an AI and is going insane about it, they put a GLaDOS AI core in Eli's head. Think about it, the Borealis is owned by Aperture Science, whos to say that the higher ups of the company weren't trying to get rid of GLaDOS (the high executives generally aren't at the same building as the facility)
