What was your favorite moment in Episode one, and why?
I would have to go with the entrance into the Citadel. The variety of facial expressions / emotions conveyed by Alyx and Dog, followed by the anxiousness of not being able to control what's happening to you while the citadel's corridors fly by.
Just a well-done piece of cinema and character interaction, I loved it!
I have to agree with you there. The beginning actually made me laugh it was so good! Dr. Kleiner is just funny. DOG is still my favourite character.
It would have be Citadel blowing up as you are speeding away on the train, that has got to be the most epic and awsome explosion ever seen!
It's always hard to choose, I would even talk about different types of favourite moments.:p In this case I would say that whole Alyx behaviour, dialogues and expressions in the beginning of 'Undue Alarm'.
When Alyx is really glad to see you during that hug scene....After the big hug when says "I was so Worried." then she fiddle's with her necklace, then She looks the other way & says something else to distract what she said....to change the subject, lol. that was great.
As I have said many times before, Valve are the best at getting character emotion credible.
Yeah, it was even better the fact that I hadn't watched my little brother play through it so it wasn't as predictable, unlike Half-life 2
Another of my favourite moments (although it is a little creepy), is the elevator battle just before Urban Flight. I don't know why, it just... is!
The big dramatic things like the elevator battle tend to be big hits, of course. Nobody likes 'That one zombie leaning against the wall.' :P
My favorite moment was standing on the back of the train and seeing the shockwave and what appeared to be time and space distorting.
Prior to seeing the ending it was when Alyx was happy to see Gordon and hugged him then acted embarrased.
Worst moment was fighting that dammed gunship in the house, shooting fish in a barrel is not fun when your the fish!
And DOG is the coolest.
