I've had it with people who flame files posted on hl2files.com. Some of them wish they could be capable of creating something, but even their crap comes out wrong, and the rest are "guests" who don't have the balls to log in and post under their real name, or are just too lazy to register. Then, you have "the phantom voter", who votes 1 on everything, no matter what it is. Therefore, until that situation is corrected, I won't allow to have my files posted there anymore. If I submit them, then they can post them, but if I do not, maybe that means I don't want them there. You spend some of your time creating something for the community and what do you get? A flaming turd across your face. I don't need that.

Don't worry about it Fragger. People complain and bitch about everything I do recently. Just ignore it and fuck them. There's always those out there who appreciate what you do, no matter what it is. Take my mappacks for example, take Garry's mod. Shitloads flame yet they're still popular and liked at least by some.

So, take it easy and don't let it get to you ;)

Something about this thread stinks. Im not 100% sure what it is but i think it falls under the catogory of... "if everyone doesn't say they like my files then no one can have them". The internet is full of flamers but it doesn't mean you have to 'throw your toys out the pram'.

The flaming of files goes with the terrotory. Get used to it. Unless you have some nazi moderation of the comments section where people are only allowed to say nice things about the files.

It's not that. I just hate it when the same people go around posting "this sucks" or worse. I can take criticism. In fact, I always ask for it. But one thing is when a registered member says "it needs improvement" and another is a guest saying "you suck, you ignorant ass". I'm not such a prima donna.

I try to filter out guest flames as best as I can but for registered members well, it's not that easy. So, dude, screw them and release your stuff for those who appreciate it. I'm currently using ur Half-Park HL2 Intro theme and 2-3 skins. The fuck I care what other ppl think. I like 'em as I'm sure others do.

Likewise the TGA convert"E"r. Some guys found it useful like #1, others who have no use just bitch. Welcome to the real world. :uhm:

too many people seem to attribute some personal failing or moral inferiority to the objects of their 'criticism'. i agree that baseless derision and personal attacks are completely uncalled for. now, thanks to the tireless efforts of many flamers, we're going to suffer the loss of both established talent and those who would like to submit something in order to gain constructive criticism and thereby learn how to improve their material.

the mention of the current flame-fest for garry's mod v.3 is quite a case in point. if everyone is to produce material that will offend no one in any way, then a lot of humor, fun, and creativity will be dead. i didn't take offense at any of the wording because i thought that it was intended as something humorous... even if it wasn't, it's his own choice what he wants to call the stuff in his mod. the same is true for everyone else.

i admire the people who take their time to create and submit content for the use and education of others. the treatment that many modders seem to be getting from the so-called community is outright hostility.

This kind of thing was going on for a long time at Armada2files. Over there, the Admins disabled guest commenting, which made a BIG differnce. I mean really, how hard is it to get a user ID? The flaming has been brought down to a very bare minimum. Some flaming still occurs, but at least now we can see who it is, and if the flaming is vulgar or overly abusive, the Admins and Moderaters can take appropriate action against the member that offended.

While I agree that everyone is not going to like a mod that I or someone else does, there's no reason for just outright insults. I mean, no one is putting a gun to their heads to download and install the mod, right? So if they don't like it, give it the ol' 1-10 rating, leave some constructive criticism( if they know how), and don't use the mod! Simple.
