As I've posted in a lot of other posts i think hl2 was so freaking awesome. I was expecting to play a good game but i didn't know how good. And it was so much better than what I expected. It was very immersive and the characters really make you feel, or Gordon is an important person. All of the level were completely different from the one before and everything was so fluid and natural. There wasn't to much narrative or action and when there was action it would give you a little breather....unlike how doom3 would always have you constantly nervous and never let you relax, also the levels were for the most part so much alike and boring. But the game was definently a lot of fun to play through and for me i never got bored. I don't know why you guys didn't like ravenholm because i loved it. It was sorta scary but not really, it let you experiment with the gravity gun, you got to meet a very interesting character, The Priest, and the puzzles were fun. Also it was just fun to see the booby traps. But i thought the game was totally awesome, the ending was awesome but I'm still a little confused, but with this game as you play through it more and more you find out things you didn't before which I think is more fun than having everything explained to you. But what more can I say, the best game i have ever played. Sound, graphics, immersivness all good. And i don't see how people can say doom3 graphics are better than hl2. Doom3 is so dull with the same environment, while hl2 has sooooo much variety. Maybe some indoor locations are better than hl2 but hl2 is all around great. For example i thought the minimal scenes outside in d3 looked like shi#.
Huh.... how do you know everyone dies eh.... like they said in hl3 you will beable to play alyx... or is that an expansion pack... meh, n e ways he can save them or he just will let them die...(g-man)
and as for the nick G-man, if you read the one interview the G-man nick was originally Gordon freemans nick name.... Gordon = G-man nick..... but then everyone thought it was the guy in the blue suit which didnt have a name... so everyone called him the g-man instead of gordon....
............. now i lost my dam twinkie you bastards !!!
I really liked Ravenholm and Nova Prospect. The 13th Chapter was cool, too. But imho the resistnace chapters were not so good. I don't felt like being a part (or the leader) of an revolution.
ScHpAnKyI'm a huge skeptic over every game I play, and Half-Life 2 exceeded everything I could ask of it, much better than any other game I have ever played!
agreed, although i wasnt skeptical at all... i thought ravenholm was scary, but fun. it had a resident evil feel. everybody ive talked to that didnt like it didnt like it because they thought it was scary.
Ravenholm was great (apart from the bit where I got stuck and went round in circles for ages) and the resistance levels were great to but the best level has to be either the airboat level or the buggy level (especialy the bridge section).
The whole game was brillient and never ever felt repetative, however it was to short and I don't think there were enought weapons or enemies.
How can some people think its short? It was one of the longest shooters I've ever played, in a good way.:)
Half-Life 1 was a bit longer I think, and a bit better too. It's still my favourite.

I think everyone got stuck at the point in Ravenholm, I know I certainly did. Ran out of ammo as well, ended up chucking anything I found of the ground at zombies to make them die.
The parts withno ammo were fun, I remember entering a room and getting mobbed by like 10 zombies, so I went back and got a table.:p
