Well that's the release date anyway Gat, and the Australian Standards Authority wouldn't have the power to delay the game in one country (Would they?) Then again..... If they can ban a game....

Austrailia sucks, apperently the ozone hole is affecting on people and its government.

im trying to verify that....*as i surf the net*....... EDIT: According to the ESRB site, Half life 2 will have (17+)...but in Austrailia im not sure... EDIT # 2:
ActionTrip.comMore like Suckstralia. Half-Life 2 might be banned:
The folks over at Sumea have posed an interesting question: will HL2 be refused classification in Australia in the light of the Pan European Games Information (PEGI) rating of R18+ given to HL2? In Australia, no games have been accepted as R18+ titles meaning that HL2 will need to be given MA15+ (or below) certification to be sold in Australia. The Australian Office of Film & Literature Classification (OFLC) is yet to classify HL2, but I'm sure most Aussie gamers who have been waiting over 5 years for the most-anticipated game will be keeping their eyes peeled on the OFLC website to see if HL2 receives a rating. Given that games such as the Soldier of Fortune series and Doom 3 received approval (which were also rated R18+ by PEGI), it seems highly unlikely that HL2 will be refused certification.
That's a pretty f**ked up system, but it seems like they aren't doing much censorship. Soldier of Fortune 2 was so over the top that realism was left in the dirt. The fact that that game didn't get a hellfire of international attention probably has to do with the fact that it wasn't a great game like GTA3 was. Best of luck to the Aussies.
this is all i have found.....
This angers me beyond.... anger.
Who they hell think they have the right to ban a game/video? If somebody wants to play/watch something, that's thier choice. No stupid friggin government policy can stop that. The only thing they can do is stop the game being stocked on shelves.

All i can say is if they do ban it here every 1 will get real pissed off. what's wrong with obscene amounts of violence in games anyway? so far the only games i know that were banned but didn't have nudity/sex in them was manhunt...gta3 was fixed up supposedly they considering introducing an R rating anyway. saw it in the paper a month ago. ---- i hear our ratings for movies games etc are a bit looser than those in the us and europe, so it might get thru with an MA.
Harsh reality: A petition isn't gonna make the slightest difference. Sorry guys but i'm just being honest....
It's true I'm afriad....but you only learn the hard way...:(
