Yeah, and that sort of applies to alot of players of Half-Life too, some find the shooting fun, while some both this and storyline, and again other seek different aspects in the game. I'd say that much of Halo's popularity actaully comes out of good design as a pure FPS for console, I never realy tryed to get to know anything about it as it's atmosphere doesn't apply to me. But you have to remember that console games market is alot bigger, alot more people play games on consoles, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Halo reaches for younger audience than HL too. And now for something nearly, compleately different: Red ORchestra: Ostfront 1941-45 is not a Valve game, Valve helps the Tripwire Interactive to distribute it through Steam, but it doesn't belong to "their" multiplayer pack.
Okay, I knew Ostrfront, when I said that, was a little out there. Is DOD a Valve game?
Yes.
There was a discussion earlier on the graphics of Halo 3. Well, I think most opinnions will change in a few minutes. Bungie released a docummentary video on Brutes, an enemy in Halo 2 and what how they will be released in Halo 3. The graphics actually look like they are getting better now. The ending of the video really shows off the graphics. Pretty interesting video too.

halo 3 will destroy half life, half life is still a great game, but halo 3 will still win in a landslide.
Good job reviving a thread that's been dead since 2006.
Also, the Half-Life series has a superior plot, not to mention Halo 3 will be old by the time Half-Life 3 comes out. Half-Life 2 Episode Three isn't even close to being done yet, so it will be several more years before Half-Life 3.
No. Halo 3 doesnt beat hl3. No way.
