Though half life 2 is awsome, valve is really pissing me off. With their frequent delays, I dont care atitudes, and a lackluster cs source. As well as the fact that they buy up any mod that can make a profit and charge you for it, I remember a day when I could download, dod and cs for free, then vavle buys it up, slaps a valve sticker on it and sells it. F@#$ you steam F#@! you!
Dude SCREW YOU valve has made you a perfect game sure steam is a lil bad but give them a friggin BREAK nobodys friggin perfect take your complaining to someone who cares. However I do agree with the money consuming products.
Hmmm this is the rants and raves section is it not? Furthermore, state where I said half life 2 was a bad game? I said the people who made the game are bad, stop kissing valves anus.
The game is great IMO. I am just pissed that they didn't include Multiplayer since CS source bores me to tears. Can't wait for the official MP mod.....
Indeed, I was hoping I could download DoD or any other Sorce mod...

See thats another reason vavle annoys me, I spend my hard earned money on this game only to find out that I have to pay more money to play dod.

It is rather annoying that Valve has gone and bought some mods. I've never heard of anyone actually buying a mod and selling it instead of letting people DL it for free before. I'm sure they're perfectly within their rights to do so, but it does seem a little low...
And Steam really gets on my nerves. I've registered my CD key with them, but even then it won't let me boot up HL2 in the so-called 'offline mode'. I resent having to register my personal details and expose my computer to possible hacking just to play a SP game. All I can say is that I feel sorry for people still on 56k; I got broadband a few months ago, if I hadn't, I couldn't play HL2 for any long amount of time.

Heya Monkey boy :) Are you starting up STEAM with your internet connection disconnected? Works fine for me.

Hi Monkey Flaps, long time no see .
By default my internet connection is disabled, and I only dial it up if I need to go online for something -- I'm paranoid, y'see, although probably with good reason. I see the option to start in Offline Mode, it just tells that I failed to connect and gives up. If you need to connect to go into offline mode... well, that's a contradiction in terms, isn’t' it?
When I do it I make sure my modem is disconnected and log onto steam. itthen tells me not connected to steam, then I select offline mode and it works fine.
What credentials are you scared of giving out? Do you have the retail version or did you download it?
