I think its a very good game, the graphics are amazing, as are the physics, my only problem with it is that it could be a bit longer.
i think hl2 had fulfiled most of it's 'goals' the game's graphics are breathtaking, especially the facial display of emotions.... although there are some pitfalls....(pls dont burn me!)
the ai is kinna smart, but if you are a decent enought player, it would be quite easy to overcome it. i had only hope they had taken some moves from freedom fighters.(the ppl leaning on walls and dumpsters for cover) and it just is way too bad that you can only control 4 citizens... 12 would have been fun :)
There ane some inconsistancies with the facial graphics, i noticed that when alex laughts, the mouth just moves, theres no emotion. which compared to the frowning when she was asking about the cat, is really quite 'wrong' (cant find the corret word)
the physics engine is totally awsome.... the 'zero-point energy field manipulator' kicks total ass. (yes, i really want to call it that....) the time i spent sending rusty sawblades barreling into the masses of mindless zombies. if i had a penny i killed a zombie by droping the car on them...
But has anyone realise that wherever you shoot at, it always cuts the zombie at the waist? (if only there were multiple break zone like in SOF 2. that would so rock, dont you think?)
it's just kinna sad that some weapons dint make to teh final version of the game, the OICW and a sniper rifle would be nice....
I think it is the greatest PC game to date. Couple things upset me though, like how Valve got sloppy towards the end, shitty installation, no manual, no warnings of NEEDING an internet connections to install (for people who don't have it.) Also, they could have easily implemented an online mode even if they didn't make maps. All they had to do was allow it to be done, and left map making for the... well... map makers. Would have been better than it is with no MP am I right? Other than that, they did a fine job.
I think half life 2 is the best pc game i have played so far. The only other game i had as much fun with was medal of honor: allied assault and call of duty for its multiplayer (also the single player was fun, but short, very short). Also i dought any of you have heard of it but Sudden strike was a very fun real time strategy world war 2 game, and that was fun. But half life 2 is definently the most fun i have had so far. The physics, the characters, the graphics. But i think the ai could be a little bit smarter, it was ok. Also everyone always talks about how they want a sniper rifle, i love the crossbow its unique and not too good. And its awesome to stick a combine into a wall with one of those arrows.
Would"nt say it rocks, but was a good singleplayer game very enjoyable, fun most part, wee bit on the short side maybe, or thats because it was a good flowing game!If I had never played Farcry, Call of Duty and UT2003 etc I would say it was the best so far ,but thats only my thought on it ,but I would say its better than Doom3 and just beats Farcry .In my top 3 1) HalfLife 2 2) Farcry 3) Call of Duty :D
I don't think anyone with common sense would say that it sucks as it is the absolute inverse.
ya great game, does need 2 be longer thoguh
Best game I played, Call of Duty is pretty close second though.
