HI, if I can play the doom 3 demo on ultra high without one bit of lag, what are the chances I can play hl2 on ultra high if there even is such an option? Resolution: 1024 by 768 Refresh rate 32 bit
you should be able to because the doom 3 engine was muc more complex and took more processing power, the h2 engine will be not as complex and vbesides just look at the minumum requirements. they are less than doom 3 (i think) so there u have it if you can run it on ultra settins on doom3 than you should ( i am hoping) be able to run it on ultra settings on half-liffe 2
contradiction: unless h2 has the ability to go higher than the doom 3 engine for its best of everything (graphics etc)
32 bit refresh rate? I think the Doom 3 engine had considerably lower requirements, but that doesn't mean you won't be able to have a kick-ass experience. I think Doom 3 graphics suck anyways, too plastic. Half Life 2 is more much realistic IMO.
It should work fine.
D3 hogged more resources without actually producing much.
You should be fine.
Yeah, D3 took up way to much power for the result you got. And I agree that the D3 graphics look fake. The people and enviroment almost has a waxy look.
What are your specs anyway stealth, just out of curiosity?
But I agree. Doom 3 suck an unbilevible amount of... well not so much processing power (Well yeah) but more pooh. I hate that game.
P4 2.66 ghz. Not HT 1.5 GB of ram pc2100 Geforce 6800 gt 256 gddr3
Nice. I would have thought the 6800 would be bottle necked or slowed down by your 'slower' ram and CPU. Is your PC premade or custom? To run a 6800 to it's fullest it's recommended you have at least a 3.0GHz CPU (Or AMD Equiv) and PC3200 Ram am I correct?
slashmanYeah, D3 took up way to much power for the result you got. And I agree that the D3 graphics look fake. The people and enviroment almost has a waxy look.
Yeah, when I demo-ed it I felt like i was in a wax museum. Not really. The graphics are good, but it looks like they tried too hard to make it look real, causing it to look fake.
