Nice. I would have thought the 6800 would be bottle necked or slowed down by your 'slower' ram and CPU. Is your PC premade or custom? To run a 6800 to it's fullest it's recommended you have at least a 3.0GHz CPU (Or AMD Equiv) and PC3200 Ram am I correct?
Its a premade, or I would have had a better motherboard to support better ram, and a better cpu. I had to change the box though to fit a bigger power supply, plus I added 1 gb of ram and a new video card. It doesnt matter if I dont get the most from my card since I can play pretty much everything that's out on full settings. Also everything that will be out in the future like stalkers. The mobo's also 4x agp.
I think HL2 will take advantage of 8X AGP right?
what is agp? its no anti-alising or that other thing is it?
no, its the type of connection between hardware, the graphics card and motherboard, there is also PCI and now PCI-Express.
AGP is what the video card uses to connect to your motherboard. Usually it is brown and likewise, it's called a AGP slot. Older ones ran at a speed of 4x, now they have 8x out. Only thing is, that most games couldn't use the the speed of 8x yet, but with HL2 using so much to technology, I was wondering if it will utilize the 8x speed increase.
hmmm... i thought all modern games used it, it is getting old, isnt it?
No game out except maybe Doom3 made full use of AGP 8x most games out now only use 4x.
With my build-in GeForce FX 5200(very ashamed of it) will i at LEAST be able to play H2?
Yeah but not very well :(.
Damn you human!
