hey this is funny

i have right now a AMD Athlon 1000mhz Thunderbird 384 SD ram pc133 Geforce FX5200 Ultra

and this game runs at 32FPS with High everything at 800x600 with Antialiasing 2x and antistropic 2x

and ym card is only working at 4xAGP........ now i thought this gaem would require a lot more........ personally i like the fact that im able to play at that frame rate :D

now tell me ur computer specs... and what fps you get....

another question... would there be a performance boost going from 4x to 8x AGP? besides the 1.1gb - 2.2gb transfer rate..

MicFire999Antialiasing 2x and antistropic 2x

Do you really need that, wouldn't you rather take the higher FPS?

That is a VERY large difference. LOL Well, here are my specs.... AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Radeon 9800XT 256mb MSI Neo-Fis2R MOBO 1.5GB Corsair PC3200 RAM 200GB Hitachi 7200RPM HDD Run at 1024x768 with all settings at max. 8x/8X Average 76 FPS *EDIT* The difference from 4X to 8X AGP is not that much. Looks can be deceiving, especially since 4X is NOT twice as fast as 8X.

the only time it got down to 15 was when you have to fight all the striders at once...other than that...aver roun 40-50 fps

What drivers are you using right now? I am still just using the built-in Windows drivers. I know......:uhm: I will get the CATALYST 4.12 drivers as soon as they are released!

i've tried running hl2 with anisotropy and anti-aliasing set at 8x, and it was not too pretty at 1600x1200, all at high, h20 reflect all... averaging about 20 or so fps. the game has enough smooth transitions from texture to texture, and decent enough geometry mapping that i have not noticed any picture quality improvement going from 2x to 8x. i run with the aforementioned settings, but with anisotropy and anti-aliasing at 2x, with average fps of ~78. the lowest i have seen is around 40. the highest is somewhere around 300. changing to no anisotropy and anti-aliasing only nets me about 3 or 4fps on average.

Audigy XGamer -1 year old upgrades MSI GeForceFX 5800 128MB (higher clock and ram speed than non-ultra, but does not match ultra appearance... has the performance, from what i have seen) 2 AMD Athlon MP 2800+ Barton core cpu's no overclocking, full ECC scrubbing enabled, random glitches due to M$ DirectX 9.0c's inability to distinguish between ECC and non-ECC specifications within my system. runs ok enough for me.

I'm running on a

P4 1.7Ghx 512 mo ram GeForce FX 5200

with

High on textures, shadow, models medium water effect no AA, no AF

I'm getting pretty good result with my 2 years old PC.

When there is no one around I get like 70-90 fps

When some poeple are around it's about 30-50 fps depending if I'm outside or in a building.

When there's like 4 ant lions following me, 10 cobines and 2 turrets shooting at me plus 2 gunships...my comps is old so I average a 15-20 fps, but it can also drop to 10 fps.

Anyway, I'm having a great time and the graphics are super.

Maybe I'll upgrade to a 9600XT or a 9800 Pro.

Hopes it help people with old CPU that were affraid to buy the game.

Get rid of it and get a 9600XT or better:D I don't have Hl2 because my 9000pro is so old it won't run very well even at lowest possible settings:lol:.
