Dunno. Haven't finished it.

But considering the Mod community and level editors (myself included) it won't end until HL3 comes out :)

I bought it on Saturday, at around 3pm. I started playing it at about 4pm (normal difficulty), and finished at around 1am. Then on Sunday I drove to Cheshire, only getting back at 5pm, when I started playing it again. I finished it at 10:30pm roughly. That's not saying much though, as I finished Halo in quarter of a day. THAT'S too short. Half-Life 2 wasn't short, I don't think -- it certainly didn't seem short; it was epic. I just started playing it again, taking it slow this time to explore every nook and cranny. As I already found a few things I didn't spot when zooming through it the first time, I think it may have some degree of replayability (is that even a word?).

I think it wasn't to short at all, and it wasn't to long either.

It's not my fault your rushed through the game...ugh.

Where's the "No, it was just right" option? I thought the game was well balanced and worth it's length in gold.

I've not finished it yet, but its taken me over a weekend of playing it on and off, which is a good length. . . I look forward to all the mods which will add new single-player experiences to the game. Hopefully there will be mods made where you get to play as the Combine (like Opposing Force) and stuff.

It was shorter than Half-life 1, but certainly not too short. I started playing at 2pm, stopped playing at 4:30 am (:)), and finished it in 2 hours the next day. So that would be about 15,5 hours (on easy).

That's saying nothing though, a friend of mine already finished the game 5 times and is now half way the 6th time.

You guys serious. You call that a long epic. All it was is shoot your way in the game and shoot you way out of the game. I explored every little thing. I played on hard. I took my time. I did not play for more then 4 hours a day, and I finish it on the 5th day after I got it. I cant believe you call this game long when more then 70% of the games out on pc are at least 2 times longer then this. Even COD UO was longer then this. Also, being this short is acceptable when most of the answers are answered, not when 90% of the answers are left blank leaveing people to go like wtf? You finished HL1 knowing this much"---", and you finished Hl2 knowing this much "----" All this is lost in space "------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"

Most games these days can be finished in a single sitting -- most games these days, however, you don't want to play for very long. Unless you leave the FPS genre and start looking at RPGs or RTSs, you're not going to find a particularly long game. Half-Life 2 is significantly longer (and infinitely more difficult) than Halo 1, which is somehow hailed as a great games, and a hell of a lot more entertaining than most FPS games out there. It's one of the few games that will keep me interested in first person shooters at all these days.
