my main point is that you are branding him english and therefore not liking the gamecube. whether he is english or not has nothing to do with his console prefernce

i can't even remember most of the games i've played... i guess that means they didn't leave that much of an impression, or i'm just losing my memory. i'll list 13, because it's a nice round number.

1) planescape: torment (never did finish - i got into it too much. depressed the hell out of me to the extent that i couldn't even force myself to be evil. still have the save files.) 2) hunt the wumpus (only damn program microsoft ever wrote that didn't suck) 3) halflife (but it looks primitive now - still had more funny events/breakables) 4) quake (guns that fire nine inch nails - great atmosphere, engine, music... revolutionary) 5) halflife2 (jolly good fun) 6) deus ex (used to be next best thing to halflife; liked the sword and stun baton) 7) elder scrolls 3: morrowind (yeah, it craps out a lot, runs like trash, and has the worst 3d engine i've ever seen {as far as physics, stability, scalability, flexibility, etc} - but it is still fun somehow... must be the modding community! if it had either the doom3 or hl2 engine, then it would rock. maybe oblivion won't suck too much.) 8) wizardry 7: crusaders of the dark savant (damn it, i loved that game! i learned to use a hex editor to cheat on it. nifty story. big world.) 9) diablo (i liked to chase the succubi. blood and guts. happy music.) 10) ultima 8: pagan (a lot of people hated it. i just loved it. great atmosphere - cold, dark, confining, alien. plus i discovered my vocation as a necromancer.) 11) pitfall 12) swotl (anyone remember it? i died a lot.) 13) giants: citizen kabuto (timmy!)

if someone asked me this question tomorrow, i'd likely have a different list. i don't remember things and i'm chaotic. still, the 13 i listed are usually my favorites. i also loved the old text adventures, but i don't remember what they were called. i miss my commodore 64! damn i feel old.

Actually it has alot to do with it. If you live in a country where every time you go into a game store there is either no Gamecube at all, are a very small section that will hurt your opinion of it. Not to mention the bad press it constantly recieves over there. If every store, person and reporter you know bad mouths it, you are not going to give it a fair chance.

1) Half - Life 2 (Half - Life is almost as good but the last chapter in the sequel really takes it all) 2) Half - Life As for number 3 I really don´t know. Very close, so I´ll just list my other favourites: Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven (Maybe you only play it once but what a ride. If anyone will make a movie out of any game, it should be this game) C&C: Tiberian Sun (:bows: ... nothing more to say... it just rules) Doom III (Chainsaw in hell on mars + the great graphics = ) Heroes of Might and Magic III + the expansions (Sigh... Old times :bows: Never gets tired of it) Quake III (3rd best mp. "Humiliation" etc etc :p ) C&C: Red Alert - both 1 and 2 (Both are classics. Both rock like hell  ) Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix (Best mp game :bows: but kind of crappy in sp) Call of Duty (2nd best mp. Very nice sniping maps + lovely sp) So there ya have it, and if you don´t like it... YOU`RE WRONG  (j/k)

by that definition urban should prefer the ps2 to the PC as this always gets bigger shelf space. however, this isn't true. and gamecube gets a great press in britain, u obviously read the wrong reviews!!! lol anyway i feel this thread is going WAY off topic, and while this discussion is still civilized i cant help feeling it will turn into an argument. And you seem like a nice person and a good person to debate many a topic with :) so lets leave this thread for the purpose it was intended and i will see you around. i forsee we shall have a great many more intelectual debates here!!!!!
