I bought a new video card(X1900 All-In-Wonder) and a new motherboard (Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe) recently. I reformatted my whole computer. I can play all my games smoothly with no flaws like Quake 4, Doom 3 and FEAR. But for some reason when i play Dark Messiah, CS:S, Half-Life 2 or Battlefield 2142 it stutters for like 5 seconds then goes back to normal for about 5 seconds, then does it again. It keeps on doing it. When i start up windows those games will play smooth for about 10 minutes, then it will start to stutter. It stutters at the menus and when im playing the game. Only part it doesnt stutter is when it is loading the level. This never used to happened to me before with my X850 Pro. I checked my running programs, i tried turning off Anti Virus and Fire wall and it still does it. I tried to see if any program starts when it starts to stutter but no program starts, i dont know wut it is?!Ive updated my ati, directx my processor drivers and everything that i could think of. When i first installed half-life 2 i loaded it up and it said something on my monitor about "H.V. Voltage Over-Range". It hasnt showed it since. I dont know what that means? Can anyone help me?

Some games are incompatible with some cards. I know my brother had an odd Nvidia card, and he couldnt play BF2, Battlefront 2 had weird graphical glitches, and HL2 started acting up, everything started flickering. So while it is possible your new card is better, it may not be supported by those games. Check steam's tech support site for FAQ and a list of supported video cards.
