i figure that the zombies were his flock before they were turned, so he sticks around to help them on to the hereafter. then again, he's nutty enough that i wouldn't be surprised to find out that he shepherded all the monsters into the town just so he could have fun building traps and blowing things away.

i think lamar is the most interesting character. father grigory is a close second in my book.

The reference to "his flock" is from the Bible, were they said God is a sheep herder, and all the humans on the earth are God's flock. Since priests see themselves as doing the work of God, they consider the people in their parish as their "flock", and see themselves as the "sheep herder". I believe Father Grigory used to be the priest for Ravenholm, and all the zombies used to be the townspeople of Ravenholm. When the townspeople all got turned into zombies, Grigory wanted to put them out of their misery("tend to his flock"). I hope this makes sense.(It probably doesn't)

Sounds about right ^^^. Headcrabs are the first stage of zombies; a zombie is the result of a headcrab attaching itself to your head -- even if you hadn't figured that out for yourself in HL1, it was explained in Opposing Force near the beginning by a scientist who had an unhealthy fascination with the creatures. They take control of your nervous system, though if their chests are anything to go by, the person would be dead without the headcrab controller. Hence their name, headcrabs. For zombies to exist, there must have been people before. It's most likely that all the zombies encountered in Ravenholm were infact the townsfolk, who would also have been the priest's 'flock', as explained above. For me, the most interesting character has to be G-man. Just when you think you have it figured out, he goes and does something like, I don't know, freezing time.

Stealth3I explored every little thing. I played on hard. I took my time.

Who's Lamar?

:D (Sorry, I couldnt resist)

The most interesting charcter must be Dr. Kleiner. He's the typical scientist / professor. Somehow I find him very amusing.

I was scared half to death when that headcrab first jumped at Barney... they're mysteriously cute when they're not trying to bond with your head, though.
