Wow it's been a while since I've posted here... Valve has released some new concept art for Episode Two (they're big so watch out):

These are pretty interesting, especially the one with the Citadel in ruins. In the G-Man picture, he is standing in the place where we see Judith Mossman hiding out in Episode One. I wonder why Valve would pick this particular place for the G-Man to be in... An important thing to note is that they all look like paintings, like concept art usually does, EXCEPT for the pic of the Citadel, which looks like parts of it were taken directly from the game.

HOLY CRAP! Sweet. The third picture seems to move even more towards my opinion on who the G-Man is and what his purpose in Half-Life is.

The 2nd picture I can't wait to see in-game. That will be an awesome vista to see. Look at City 17, that's really cool. That vista will probably be used to showcase the destruction that was done to the Citadel and City 17.

The first one looks real at points. Especially the character model.

I can't wait to play it.

Well the chopper in the first pic looks like its in working condition... however my reaction now is different to when I first saw the pics on Update News. I immediatly thoguht "I sure hope we get to fly that thing", but I think at most we'll probably be just a passenger in it (surely if we were flying around in helicopters, Valve would have shown some footage of one by now). Second picture is nice and I'd love to see that view in game with HDR and all, but I don't think it has too much bearing on the game right now. And the third picture really just underlines the fact that Valve seem to be setting up G-Man as a bad guy. The trailer shows him with Alyx in his empty void area, with what can only be called an evil smirk on his face, and now we see him looking equally suspicious, and note how he is stood on the other side of the Combine, not with the rebels.

I do not consider the G-Man on the Combine's side. But at the same time he is also not on the rebel's side. I think the picture is actually stating that the events that we saw there were a result of his doing and so were the results of other events.

I agree, I don't think the G-Man is on anyone's side. The picture with the G-Man implies to me that he had SOMETHING to do with the situation there. Perhaps he was the one who gave away the location of Dr. Mossman and the Rebels to the Combine. I hope this means that the G-Man escaped from the Vortigaunts. In Episode One I missed seeing him walking around and checking up on Gordon. In the Episode Two trailer it shows another view of the destroyed Citadel (below).

The trailer shows the Citadel and the smoke from probably a few miles away and during the daytime, but the new picture shows it from much closer and almost nighttime. Does this mean that Gordon goes BACK to City 17 after it is destroyed?

I had forgotten about that portion of the trailer. It is much harder to see the Citadel that way. I actually like it like it was in the concept art. I doubt we are returning to City 17 for a time. I believe a developer mentioned that in the commentary for Episode One. And Pvt. Allen posted a link in the G-Man thread that goes back to a video look into the Half-Life 2: Episode Two, and Portal. The developer said that Episode Two is about rallying the troops who fled City 17 into an army of sorts. Making your way through forests, caves, country-sides and grouping the human alliance together. They also mentioned you find out a lot more about the G-Man's relationship with Alyx and who is the leader to the Combine. They also mentioned that a main character is being killed off, no longer a rumor. I personally think it is Mossman because she is in the most likely situation to get killed in.

I never thought the Vortigaunts captured the G-Man, I have been led to believe that they broke the connection from the G-Man and Gordon. Sort of freed Gordon from his clutches. Though your mentioning of the G-Man being captured stirs my thoughts.

I just assumed he was captured because you don't seem him at all in Episode One. [quote=OneEyedCactus;3662196] Well the chopper in the first pic looks like its in working condition...

You know how Eli and Dr. Kleiner are apparently hiding out in and old missle silo? Maybe that is what is pictured in the first pic with Alyx and the helicopter...It might be some kind of abandoned military base that they found.

Sorry for the double post but I found some more pictures. These are actual screenshots - not concept art, but whatever. They're pretty big spoilers.
