Was that surprising then? :( Expect delays to all Episodes. But this is where I lose interests in the 'Episodes' for the moment. If it is released in Summer, Episode 1 was released one year ago. Episodic content releasing wasn't that fast? They should just put them to one game..

This is when I say to myself, the delaying of the releases is just old & im getting too old for this sort of thing. HL2 was in development for several years, thats rediculus. Valve keep lying through their teeth, for once tell me an accurate release point Valve. This summer release is kinda O.o wtf? but I could see a Spring release since its near my Birthday April 13, 1988 :D; but common Summer. You know what, Im not going to assume Valve is going for a summer release; I strongly expect either a Fall 2007 release or a Q1 2008 release for Ep2. Episode 3 will release in 2010 in the summer & HL3 will release in 2025 in the fall. Guarenteed.

This concept about episodic release's being alot quicker by a huge margin is irrelevant & bunch of load of horse crap if I ever saw one. This will cause valve to question episode's & go back to full HL releases.

I just hope they'll fuse all episodes in the last episode, so you can play them fluently without changing CDs and restarting the game.

Tbh I also allowed this possibility in my mind but it's still sad. Well, now summer 2007 may very likely mean second half of September so it's nearly 10 months, instead of 4, or as in the beginning 1 until release now. I won't complain about it though. Valve does not lie about their release dates, companies are required to give some overal dates, especially in case of something that was meant to not take long. Good products take up a lot of time though and I understand it. I rather like it being this way, then the EA owned company doing everything to fit in the estimated date (what shall we cut out then... hmm, g... g... gam... gameplay! whas this? ....meh ...cut! we'll add it in a patch). For those of you who know FH mod, I took part as mapper and tester in developpement of last official map pack and our interial estimated release slipped by about 6 months so I know the thing. Valve has decided to release the game with two additional, compleately different games, make a simulationeus release on two new consoles having no experience with PS3, started working on adding new features to Half-Life 2 and Episode One and the "team number one" already started working on Half-Life 2: Episode Three. Imo it's alot to take. Remember, the game will only get better, we are lucky that there is still actaully a company that still cares as much as they do, it's visible by the complexity of their products. My only wish about release it that it'll take place in June and not any later in the vacation when I might be away.

That's not too bad. One year difference probably. Episode One was released last year the day I got out of school. School year end game releases are pretty cool I have to agree. I don't mind waiting, normally makes the game better.

If they decided to cram it all into one game we would still be waiting for the expansion ( or it might have been considered HL3 ) to be realsed. So we are getting the games sooner , just not as soon as we wanted. Half life: Episode 1 was originly considered for a Q1 2006 release, but was pusehed back to summer as well. i think Valve just got too cocky when the announced the realese dates.

To me all this shows is the failure of episodic releases. I got a feeling valve will abandon it because its useless, its supposed to be every 6 months a new episode, right now its like 20 months. When everything is said & done, HL3 will be released in Q4 2025

I support your opinion, but to me it sounds rather pessimistic.

Probaly late 2009, early 2010 seems more likely for HL3.
