http://halflife2.filefront.com/news/EA_Games_to_publish_CSS_HL2_and_future_Valve_products;20333x#660863 This has to be the WORST thing every to happen in gaming histroy. I HATE EA they are the whole reason why BF2 isnt as good as it should be. They kept fricken rushing dice with the game taking out tons of crapl. Go to hell EA. Heres some more bullshit from gamespot. The world of gaming will never be the same....http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/18/news_6129331.html?tag=lastword_all_headline

Uh, well EA plays too much monopoly.. But since the deal was carefully worded by Valve, I think it's just good to have a publisher wich has good contacts all over the world, but I don't like EA's games that much, as long as Valve keeps Valve Valve, it'll be fine.

What about EA being Valve's new publisher? You see that? This spells the end of one of the last great FPS series. EA will dumb down the game until it's like some 2-year production FPS. WHEN IS ENOUGH MONEY ENOUGH EA?!!

No, if Valve worded the deal carefully enough then they can refuse to be harassed by EA. This means they can take as long as they need for Half-Life 3 and the forthcoming expansion pack. Valve aren't folk to be pushed around or hurried along I can assure you.

Due to the Half-Liufe series Valve has been granted a position that only a few developers have. I'm pretty certain even EA would put aside their deadlines for them , tho I never had a problem with EA , BF2 was great

Petition time! Vavle listens to their community a good bit, maybe they can get away from EA and go with someone else, or just sell their games through steam. If Ea gets control of them, PC gaming will have gone down the crapper never to retrun.

^yup.....What went wrong with Vavle and Vivendi anyways? I liked them....But wait u wanna know what the worst part about this is gonna be? When HL3 comes out you are gonna be the happiest man alive. Then u pop in that disk, install it, the game starts its opening and the first thing u see and hear is... "EA games, challenge everthing!" just f***ing sick to hear that in a half-life game.... Just isnt right :cort:

Exactly. I expect EA to be on crappy football games, ie. FIFA soccer 2009 and the rest, I can't come up with 'em now. But I can't imagine it being on HL. It just won't sound right. Hopefully we can delete the file like in BF2.

But EA perhaps won't taint the game past their extremely annoying "intro" video.
