my download (phase 4) on steam froze at 92%, so i tried to make it carry on by pausing and unpausing it, the problem now is that it won't unpause o, and it still probably won't assume the installation if i manage to unpause it... :Censored: :sitonit: :barf:
:smokin: dude I have the same problem but was at 84% though. So what the hell, but then again I do plan on buying the game in a box. I'm just glad I wasn't the only guy experiencing that problem:uhoh:
why do u buy the game in the box if u r downloading it though?
You can DL and pay for it off Steam or buy it in the store. Try restarting Windows and bringing up Steam again, then click on HL2 in the Games Menu and you progress should be saved so it would read: 92% If it doesn't work, I don't know what the problem is.
Hope this helps, Apok
Pfft... Preload. Man thats stupid how people who "Plan to buy it in store" are actually preloading. But its kinda crap any way IMO (lol im just jelous because im on a 56k dial up  )
But seriously, why not just buy it in the shop?
V E N T !!!
If you've got cash you can do both, the nice thing about DL it is you can play it the moment it comes out istead of driving to you nearest EB Games and buying it, then driving back home and loading it(which you won't have to do if you DL it because it's preloaded), Then you can play it. I'll do all that but it'll be fun to just start playing it when it's released. But eather way you still play HL2 :nodding:.

Nik and Apok im on both your sides. I'd like to play it right away so i think i WILL get gold. Also.. I'm not on 56k (duh) but i agree with you also Nik, that a hard copy is better.
i've got a coupon from my ati graphics card so i get the game for free. :deal:
For those of you having problems with the pre-load, try this....
Exit STEAM and go to the STEAM folder. Delete your "clientregistry.blob" file. Restart STEAM and let it update. Try your pre-load again and see if it lets you resume downloading. This has worked for me and many others for all of the previous pre-loads. Hope it helps!
